So because there's a hub it's been making me wonder if when you return to a level does it respawn every enemy and boss like in Doom 2016? Or is it mostly just a few enemies here and there with no bosses like a classic metroidvania?

Are...are you honestly coming to a DOOM game looking for Metroidvania? The f*** is wrong with you?
People that play as Fi in Hyrule Warriors probably think that paste is a valid nutritional choice. They are to be gently corrected, they don't know any better.

Considering the platforming in Eternal, the comparison isn't far off.

Well, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve read all day, but the day isn’t over yet.

I haven't tried replaying any mission yet, but no, so far it's nothing like Metroid. You can collect everything in every mission using what you have/gain during it. There's no backtracking later with some new ability to get something you couldn't earlier, unless you count not worrying about picking up everything the first time through and going back with Cheat Codes on later.

The missions are separated so no because they don’t tie in all together like the traditional Metroidvania’s. The one thing that is similar, however, is the ability to fast travel throughout the mission but you can only do so when you’re near the end of the level.
