  3. Is this Itsuno's last DMC game? Can anyone else handle the series?

So, Itsuno wants to step away from Devil May Cry and make Dogma 2 next and I am guessing Capcom would eventually greenlight the project.

The issue here is, who can handle the series?
Itsuno is a genius that made DMC3 and 4. Everything good about DmC was also made by him as well.

Anyone else who takes charge of the series would definitely not preserve the culmination of mechanics the series established since DMC3.

This might be the 'last' DMC in a way.
Unless Itsuno does more. Maybe we will only get a DMC game per generation.

Everyone and their dog will bring up Platinum.
I dont think they cant make new mechanics and their games abuse the same dodge/block counter function too much(which they have to disable in higher difficulties because they dont know how to balance their game)

Hard to say, it’ll probably just have to be a new era for the series

At the very least from a gameplay standpoint they should be able to just copy the groundwork layed down by itsuno, but that’s apparently hard for devs to do

It’s not worth even thinking about right now though, we’re still 5 months out from this game, who knows what the future holds

And by new era, they would probably remove styles. A noob dodge button is also coming.

I guess its something to do with his programming skills.

Capcom doesn't have a lot of people left that could handle a series like DMC I think.

Honestly I wonder how many more devs out there that are left that can make games like DMC.

Can Team Ninja still even make Ninja Gaiden games...it's been so long.

You get new big heads in that want to prove themselves and they start removing things thinking they're super smart and progressive.

Or just change things for the sake of change to leave their mark.

Source? I don't remember hearing him saying anything about that.

Also if that's the case, I'd rather him just come back to DMC giving us one or two per Gen. Rather wait for quality after all.
There is no difference between a Wrathful God, and a Vengeful Devil, Brand me with either. The Difference between Man, and God, is you have something to Fear

Yeah, I'll see them making converting DMC in a generic hack & slash with dial-a-combo and dodge offset, while thinking they are super smart.

I can be worse though, they could "brainstorm" and decide that DMC needs a grounded soul-esque gameplay...
"Might controls everything. And without strength you cannot protect anything...let alone yourself."

Personally, regardless if the series were to continue, this will mostly likely be my last DMC.

I enjoy Platinum games but I'd rather they continue Bayonetta, MGR.
