Can't kill Evan, already dead

Went to kill Evan, was already dead. Tried logging in and out, still dead. Can't continue main quest. Anyway to fix this ?

Just keep logging out and back in until you find a word where he hasn’t been killed yet. It may take several tries.

Keep logging out and logging back in, pray it puts you in a server where he's still alive. That or you can sit there and pray he respawns sooner or alter.

It sucks but hey, that's Fallout 76 (rant inc) same s*** happened to me btw, made me question tenfold why the hell he wasn't just included in a singular, player-only instance like what exists in ESO, or just about any god damn MMO. Even Borderlands had individual instances for players. I also don't understand why ghouls and dogs will consistently respawn in the overworld every 2 or 3 minutes yet an important quest enemy like this one will either take 30 minutes to respawn or not respawn at all. It's one of the many obnoxious things about this game.

He was dead the first time I did that quest.

I simply moved on and did something else. It's not like there isn't 100 other open quests at any given time anyway.

Went back a day or two later, and he was alive... for a minute. Lol

No biggie.

There have been reports that you can get that insanely unlucky. If he dies on a server, he won't come back for a good while, and given that quest is given moderately early on, and the game just went on sale for roughly half off, it's going to be an insanely hard quest to complete unless a fix is applied.

Meanwhile, trash mobs in some locations respawn so quickly that I can't even read the damn terminals before they're attacking me again. They really need to flip that around.
