Just finally got my physical Switch version from LRG, and the video quality is pretty bad, it's like 3DO levels of compression. If i wanted to play Night Trap in 3DO quality, I would just play my 3DO version!

I guess you could argue it's more nostalgic this way, but the whole selling point of this re-release was the fact they got a hold of the original tapes and restored them. What's the point if you are gonna compress it to 3DO levels anyways?

I guess Screaming Villians cheaped out on the file size for this version to save money on Switch Carts from Nintendo.

Just be aware of this before you buy.

Here's some PS4 screen I took from the same scenes, not as big of a difference as I thought, but the Switch version is still a little worse.

I’ve played the original on Sega CD, the Switch version is muuuuuuuuuch better. The videos were from VHS tapes, you can see tracking lines in some of the video clips which I find funny and part of the charm. There really wasn’t going to be any better quality video than what we got here.

PS4 is slightly better quality, the switch seems about on par with the 3DO version

Are those screenshots you made by hitting the screenshot button on Switch? Because the Switch compresses it's screenshots big-time, they always look terrible.

Yeah but before I took the screenshots I noticed it looked worse hence why I took the screenshots in the first place. It looks nearly that bad in person as well
