1.Nintendo lost almost everyone during the n64 era and they've been notorious for decades now for having piss poor 3rd party support, its only now with the switch that you can say for the first time in a really long while that nintendo is finally regaining what they've lost.

2.Nintendo is a corporation, one man being butthurt and salty because he's made bad decisions and abused his business partners over the years does not reflect on the rest of the company.
There are many other examples how Nintendo F*ed up 3rd party developers at the time. Like how Miyamoto handled the whole Argonaut Games situation and disposed of them ungratefully. Or how he nearly drove Rockstar Games into banctrupty when he demanded they completely revamp their open world adventure into an RPG as there weren't any on N64 at that time. They then went to Sony too and created the GTA series.
My most wanteds: #1 Heihachi, #2 Rayman, #3 a new Zelda rep, #4 Waluigi, #5 Shadow, #6 Geno, #7 Ryu Hayabusa, #8 Crash Bandicoot, #9 Doom Slayer, #10 Diablo

He wouldn't. Characters from the RPGs never get out of them.

It's not even guaranteed that characters from an RPG will get out of their one game in the series. I mean how many of the Paper Mario characters showed up in TTYD?

I don't think an OC from any of the Mario RPGs (RPG, Paper, M&L) have made a proper appearance outside of their games (besides cameos). Baby Peach I guess but I don't think a baby version of a character counts as an OC.

The stars from paper Mario are in Mario party 5
And the black star first appeared on Super Mario RPG and it was later canonized on the Mario Party games. Nintendo already canonized something from Super Mario RPG, thus they could have already try to canonize Geno if they wanted to yet they never tried to canonize Geno.

Nintendo does not care about Geno.

The idea that SMRPG's original characters would become mainstays if Square and Nintendo hadn't fallen out in the mid 90's is kinda ridiculous and has no basis in reality. Literally no valid reason to think that whatsoever.

Square 100% owns the rights to characters like Geno. He and the others were never going to become mainstays, because Nintendo wasn't going to go to Square every game and ask permission or pay to use him.

s*** like this is the reason why Geno fans get so much flak. You guys are completely delusional and exaggerate the hell out of this character's value, to the point where you outright lie about him in an attempt to make him look bigger than he actually is. No, neither Nintendo nor Square ever said Geno and company were going to be mainstays. If that were ever in the cards, Square sure as hell wouldn't completely own the rights to those characters (if at all). If you're certain this was ever actually said, go find some f***ing proof. Let me see this quote.

And no, Square leaving didn't magically create an "unspoken rule" that RPG characters are barred from appearing in the main series. Mario is not a story-driven series, and it'd make no sense to jam in every Mario character ever into even a story-based game, let alone one with no plot besides "save lady from turtle dragon".

The reality of the situation is that Geno was created for SMRPG, and was not planned for anything beyond SMRPG.

Yeah, that's totally why they went for Final Fantasy representation over adding in a D-list Mario character from a single spinoff released 25 years ago.

Can't possibly be because it's what any sane person would do.
