You can also just give Debora the Falcon Blade later on, plus she can use the Gringham Whip and the Hela Hammer

I'm mainly just doing it because I'm a completionist, and will need the free pass for the secret TnT board in the bonus dungeon

Well after 37 hours I finally managed to defeat all monsters in the game

that includes Estark, who I defeated with a team in the mid 30s (including a Chimera in the high 20s)

and it ONLY took 48 turns! Well at least it was less than 50

Now time to do the only thing more hellish, clear the Stark Raving TnT board. Starkers and Rebjorn will be mine!

Hopefully, by tomorrow I can level them up enough to be able to defeat Estark in 15 turns or less, get the Catas Trophy, and move onto Dragon Quest VI, probably sometime this weekend (which still leaves me two weeks to beat it, which is good, since I hear it can take twice as long)

I might still plan to do a summary of all the things I did in Dragon Quest V since I got married, even though this topic is dying

Starkers and Rebjørn take, I believe, the most experience of anything in the game to reach level 99. The general advice I see for getting the Catas Trophy is getting three golems and a king cureslime, levelling the up to around 30-40, and then fighting him that way with optimal equipment. Unfortunately I've never got the Catas Trophy myself, so I can't give you firsthand advice.

Oh I know, though I unfortunately have not recruited a Golem or King Cureslime, besides just look at how cute they are! I wish I could get a plushie of lil' Starkers! Probably won't get to Level 99, but maybe at Level 30 or so with a few Metal King Slimes I'll be able to take him down. Grinding in the Fungeon isn't so bad if you watch a movie or something while doing it

Another problem with them I hear is that they don't actually start getting major stat gains until around level 90, unfortunately.

I am noticing Starkers starts out strong but doesn't get any stat boosts upon leveling up, though I am hoping he gets decent skills

Well, he has basically Gigaslash and Lightning Storm, in the form of Starkers Slash and Starkers Storm.

EDIT: Oh wow, I just looked up his skill list. Kafrizzle, Meditation, Disruptive Wave, Scorch, Kaboom, C-C-Cold Breath ... yeah, that's a very good set of skills.

Funny thing is they don't even have enough MP when they first get it, well except for skills like Meditation which don't require any MP

Well even after hours of grinding I couldn't beat Estark in under 15 turns, not even close

I'm sure if I focused on it non-stop for the next two weeks I could do it, but at that point the game would be unfun, and just for a knick knack? So I am ending my DQ5 playthrough there

I'll probably start Dragon Quest VI later this weekend, in order to prevent fatigue by playing too much Dragon Quest at a time

In the mean time, I will probably retread the events that took place from when my Hero got married to getting Starkers and maybe do some more rankings like top 5 emotional DQ moments from DQ 1-5
