The Earthbound fan in me wants to believe in this so much but deep down I know it's not real. It's too blurry and the camera shot is conveniently not showing much of either character or the UI.

HOWEVER, I could totally see Sakurai thinking creating a character in a spider-mech would be really unique and cool so maybe it is real!
Favorite RPGs are the Chrono, Earthbound, and Lunar series. Also a huge fan of Zelda, Super Smash Bros, Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie/DK64 and many other games.

Why are you using the Japanese Trailer, which is no different than the English Trailer (besides the letters that appear in the splash screen) to base your argument? Hell, why are you using the SEPERATE TRAILERS as an argument when they were shown in the same E3 segment?

Like come on, they were both shown off around the same time. It’s not like views to the separate trailers count for popularity. More people were excited for Banjo than DQ. Hell, even the Japanese were excited to see Banjo and he’s a purely Western character. That shows how much better he is.

Because it was the most viewed out of all trailers? Combined with the English views for both trailers, the two being shown to two different audiences, they would probably total up to slightly less than Banjo's total, or perhaps slightly more.

I'm trying to wrap my head around why it wouldn't be a valid argument. One trailer for Hero alone outdid every other trailer in terms of views and likes, and these views were from the Japanese audience alone. The Western audience also had their fair share of views. There was probably a more even split for other trailers, but it showed Hero had the biggest following out of anybody in one location, and around roughly the same following as most other characters.

A simpler argument, it proves that Hero had a large following, and as such, people talked about him, just not in the West. Banjo was talked about less in either the West or Japan than Hero was in Japan, but was talked about more in both territories than Hero was in the West.

Okay here are the official trailers for both in English:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qyJ4djjQOr0
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pupll3ON-WA

Banjo has a million, Hero isn’t even on the same scale for his English Trailer.

Now for Japan:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YRufE4nxn08
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=w4a4cT1kDls

Hero has a ton of views, but Banjo is still in the million range! Japan cares about him just as much as we do.

Also, there’s a reason the English trailers don’t have many views...

https://m.youtube.com/results?search_query=Banjo+Trailer
https://m.youtube.com/results?search_query=Smash+Hero+Trailer

Media outlets upload the trailer and they get more views, while the “official” ones get buried underneath them. I’m pretty sure Japan doesn’t have anything similar to this, otherwise the views wouldn’t be as skewed.

So? Hero has way more views than Banjo still on the Japanese side. Banjo is roughly as popular in both territories, and Hero has way more views in Japan, balancing out with poor relatively speaking views for Hero on the Western side.

If anything you proved Banjo has a smaller audience, which I don't even agree with I think they're around tied, since Banjo has the same views on one video in Japan than he does for one of many in America, meaning his audience is smaller in Japan than you had stated.

No I didn’t, you ignored the last part of my previous post entirely.

In America, channels like GameXplain and GameSpot have trailers up that are basically Nintendo’s but easier to look up. Japan, AFAIK has no equivalent.

While Hero is big for the JP audience, he’s outclassed by Banjo in other regions.

I was wondering why this was being bumped still and if anything interesting came out of it, but it's just people arguing about unrelated s***, go figure.

And your point is? Hero is as big in Japan as Banjo is elsewhere, and I didn't ignore the last part of your post at all. I literally said Banjo in a single video in Japan has as many views as he does for one of many in America, meaning his Japanese audience is smaller, as all of their views on Banjo's single video there is the same as only one of the videos for Banjo elsewhere.

lol at the "nothing better to do" line btw. Aren't you the guy who's whining every day about a character you hate not being released for a game you're bored of?
