Seems JJ is scrubbing much of Rian's stink out of the sequel trilogy

Whether or not that's true, the porgs aren't the JarJars of the film. They stick so far into the background and don't disrupt the plot all that much, they're cute distractions at best. They're the least of TLJ's issues.

If Benicio's written out of the film, that's unfortunate; more could've been down with him, even as payback for what he did.
But I could be wrong...

His character served its purpose in the last film and left. I didn't get the impression he was sticking around anyway. So why is this a big revelation again?

The porgs, as said above, were not high on the mile-long list of what was wrong with TLJ. Sadly, what happened in TLJ can never be undone.

I'd laugh so hard if Rose dies in the first 5 minutes to a Snoke force ghost

Terrible ideas.

I still don't get people's obsession with Snoke. Do they just want an uber super villain or something? Because the guy was nothing but exaggerated Sith Lord cliches and he couldn't have served a better purpose, sacrificed to the betterment of a more dynamic and complicated character (Kylo Ren). It was also cool to see a Star Wars movie, which has created these histories of Siths killing their masters for power finally fulfill that aspect of its mythmaking on screen.

If JJ Abrams plans to backtrack everything that viewers found ire in TLJ, including key revelations that have room for growth (I'm not into TLJ, but the truth about Rey can go somewhere in IX), then the franchise would be creatively dead. To me, anyway.

Simple: many of them wanted to know more about Snoke and how he managed to sway Kylo. Not having that resolution can be frustrating.

Frankly, that's the one aspect where I felt the plot swerve---acceptable to me by concept---could've been extensively rewritten to hit home on how derivative Snoke really is. Ken should gone by say after his deed, "There you gone. Another power-hunger fool taking someone else's turn. All for a dead ideology. I know you feel the same way about your master, Rey. The Sith, the Jedi, empire, rebels, relics of a bygone age. None of them matter anymore. We can make something of this. If you lend me your hand. Join me."

But that's just me. I'm the guy who approve of Mike Stoklasa's preferred ending to this film.
But I could be wrong...
