Just watched it, i love tarantino movies and if disney did that it seems petty look i wouldn't put it past disney to bribe critics but fox, nbc universal, and viacom are all rivals of disney and i doubt they would have been bought. In our paper here in jersey they gave it 2 out of 4 stars they gave, the dark knight 4 stars and thats exactly what i think it is.

It was a single specific theatre out of the tens of thousands across the world. Not even a chain, a single theatre. And Tarantino isn't involved in those types of conversations, he's getting it 2nd hand. Deadline reported that Disney's agreement for Star Wars originally had it playing through the holidays, as evidenced by ticket sales as of Oct 19, before Hateful Eight release was announced.

Who knows what the agreement with the theatre and Disney was, but it's not as simple as big bad Disney and more importantly, has absolutely nothing to do with Disney paying of a whole bunch of reviewers. That's just stupid.

It seems like a waste of money to bribe reviewers because people don't care about reviews people still went to see the starwars movie episode1-3 , this movie broke records and even 2 ghostrider movies that got hammered in reviews it seems like disney brass would know that it's a waste of time and money

It's illegal, and the FTC would be all over it. There's a paper trail for any money, and everyone Disney approached said yes? Nobody said no and decided to spread that "hey Disney is approaching reviewers and offering bribes"? That sounds stupid even typing. Then there's the whole, Disney is unaffected entirely by WB success on its movies, and is more likely to support other superhero movies doing well as it bodes better for all superhero movies. But there are some real f***ing geniuses out there, of course Disney bribed reviewers.

Obviously the critics opinion doesn't mean much it made a ton of money but c'mon it's more of global consensus among normal movie goers that is wasn't that good

It only made money because it features two of the most iconic characters in fiction on the big screen, and obviously people are going to be curious. A ticket sale doesn't account for subsequent negative or unimpressed opinions after viewing that trash though obviously.

Still can't tell if TC is really committed to a bad gimmick or just an incredibly indignant fanboy.
