In terms of it's age.

The game itself does but this version at least when it released had a few issues. I've put it aside for a little while to wait for some patches to come.

The game itself yes, it's performance is just a bit flawed, but still playable.

Yeah, flawed. Much like your grasp on punctuation.

My memory of playing is that the GTA-like city detracted a lot from the game, but that it was still enjoyable and worth finishing. I don't remember when traversing back and forth in the city started to become a chore or whether there is a way to skip a lot of it while still progressing, I suspect not?! I'm actually going to fire up the PS3 version today and play for a while.

Okay, even after playing an hour on the PS3, the city navigation was already a pain. It is a long game, so you have to endure that as quests will send you back and forth all the time. In general, once you are in a sub-zone like on a quest or free exploring to get eggs and such you don't have to deal with the vehicle city navigation issue.

The other thing I forgot about and was an issue I had with Jak & Daxter as well is that in the remastered PS3 version they zoomed the camera so you are always in 16 x 9 full screen mode. I actually prefer the 4 x 3 on the PS2 -> PS4 version of Jak & Daxter and if I ever get the Jak II or Jak 3 games on PS4 it will be to play in 4 x 3 as the camera angle just seems better to me without the cropping of full screen.

However, I would wait to see what if anything they patch.

I've actually been playing for a few days, the city does get pretty annoying after a while & the timed missions are annoying but other then that it's pretty good.

It is definitely a good game, but the city is something to endure.

And again, I would probably be tempted to keep open a guide for Precursor Orb locations, even better if you have someone on the couch to just remind you as you go... Swinging the camera left and right and up and down all the time to try and not miss one can be maddening.

Spoilers obviously, but a bit better than following a guide covering everything... Both of these also have totals for areas, which as long as you track what you are picking up is adequate instead of looking at a detailed orb by orb guide. However, if you don't track how many you pick up, you'll be lost.
