Pretty good, I like how the revamp some of his moves got. Also, his turf war with Azure Los was amazing lol.

Triple carted the first time, was to impatient and underestimated his damage (was using Loyal Thunder guard set and a ton of his attacks just chunk through and push you back. Might need to go Shield 4 rather than 3 to make it safe). Also died once at the end cuz I blocked the thunder beam, and even though every other beam I block from other monsters and him I was able to attack after, doing so killed me here.

Second time took it a bit safer and killed it in 20 minutes with no real issues. Most my weapons use shields in general and he applies crazy pressure with his attacks lol. Fun fight overall, just gotta learn his openings a bit more and likely dodge more of his heavy stagger attacks

1/10, not a fun fight, weapons are bad, palico equipment is bad, a few pieces of armor are decent

That's weird. I thought you'd really enjoy Rajang, seeing how he provides the fix to your Clutch Claw complaints. After all, he actively punishes you for spamming the Claw when it's not safe, and you can't use it on his weakspot, so the best place to soften is his hindlegs, turning an OK hitzone into a weakpoint.
That, and he only has like 15 moves, so all the tells are really easy, meaning a weapon with a counter (like Lance) should make quick work of him.

He could have been a little more difficult. Felt like even the first fight against him was a little too easy.

It was likely made easier to make sure most players can finish it. I recall even the assignment Jho seemed to be easier.

The same with Ruiner Nergi too I believe, he was much easier on the final boss fight.

I don't like tedium. I find him tedious because it feels like I spend more time chasing him around than actually fighting him.

Assigned Deviljho was actually identical to optional, should be the same for Rajang. Ruiner Nergigante is a special case, you can only get generic materials from it on the first encounter.

Finished first try, no faints, but I was running a set with Health Boost 3. If I was running DPS I definitely would have carted at least twice that I can think of.

Mechanics of the fight are super unique - his recoil and stagger animations are actually interrupted by walls, which combined with how difficult he is to clutch claw makes me think he's the first monster you actually want to fight in a wide open area. You can, however, reliably get off a wound on his hindquarters when he does his punch rush.

His death pinball and leaping smash feel like they can't be outrun and have to be dodged, would love some feedback on that.

All in all, super enjoyable fight. My applause goes out to the devs on this one, there's a ton of unique animations and little touches in this fight.

a ton of unique animations

Every single one. Rajang's skeleton isn't used by anything else in World. All of his movements are his own.
