I just got to GL and I need help with some good Longsword build. Currently still rocking the R10 Viper Tobi Kadachi LS and some random armors. Any can recommend me a good weapon and armors+deco for my current stage?

Thank you in advance

I'm currently running:
Teo b
Teo b
Teo b
Acid Glav b
Garuga b

Handicraft charm 3

Skills:
Crit eye 7
Crit boost 3
Wex 3
Handicraft 5
Vit boost 3

Those are the core skills and some skills that comes from the pieces. I pretty much run Viper LS still because it's easier to augment health regen with it.

If you have better decorations or don't run vit boost. You can switch to quick sheath which is fun when you always use the iai slash/counter

Forgot to mention that I chose the teo pcs for the Masters Touch. With this you won't be running out of purple sharpness

Thanks for the input :)

Anybody else running LS would like to show off their sets?

Here's my current one I made two days ago.

Radiant Flow katana
Glavenus Helm A
Death Garon Mail B
Pride Vambraces B
Odogoron Coil B
Death Garon Greaves B
Earplugs charm 3.

Has:
Crit 7
Earplugs 5
Health Boost 3
Handicraft 3
Focus 2
Crit draw 2
Speed sharpening 2
Tool specialist 2
Dragon resistance 1
Non elemental Boost

Setbonus: odogaron essense(protective polish)

Gems I used:
Vitality x3
Earplugs x2
Handicraft x2
Expert x1
Expert4 x1
Elementless x1
Grinder x2

Critboost x2 on mantles.

My set, uses handicraft to get purple, maintains with speed sharpen and odogoron set bonus.

40% crit rate, but has crit draw 2 to use with sheathed slash Iai strike move.

This set could be better if I upgraded my charm or won some gem lotteries.

Elemental, just completed story.

Velk Head A
Ebony Odogaron Chest B
Reg Odogaron Hands B
Reg Odogaron Legs B
Velk Boots B

I built this set specifically around my charms since I have 3 Lvl 4 attack gems with other skills and a lvl 4 crit gem. Mileage will very with you charms.

Gives :
Elemental Crit (Velk 2 piece)
Protective Polish ( Odo 3 piece)
Crit Eye 7
Attack 4
Handicraft 3 (Charm)
Crit Draw 2

Can socket for vitality, weakness exploit, speed eating, elemental damage, etc. whatever suits you. Weakness exploit not really needed because you have native 45-75% Crit based on the weapon. Lao Slash Crits 100%.

A lot of weapons gain a sliver of purple with Handicraft 3 and protective polish makes it last longer. If a weapon doesn’t reach purple with Handicraft 3 you can switch out the charm for Crit boost, earplugs, element damage, etc.

This set works for any element and isn’t too stringent on gems. A lot of variety and can easily switch weapons and gem to fit each fight. I’ll use this till Silver Rathalos probably.

3 piece Teo, Garuga legs. Then alternate Kushala or Kirin chest as needed for your build. You can do a lot with it and get max Crit eye, handicraft, Crit boost and Weakness exploit with MT.

This set allows you to use any accompanying charm.

Also using 3 piece teo. Works really well for LS.

You might want to look into the Hellish Slasher (upgraded divine slasher using arena coins). Not too difficult to obtain and has good raw, a 4 slot, can use elementless and has a nice +40 defense. It makes for a really good all-round LS.
