Hello, my name is Griffted and today in the midst of Arch Temp Kirin release I'd like to discuss something a little more benign; the Boomerang. The Boomerang is a usable item in MHW and can be purchased from the Provisions Stockpile. It stacks 5 Boomerangs in your item pouch, each boomerang has multiple uses before breaking, a similar mechanic to bug nets and pickaxes from previous games.

Boomerangs have some obvious uses: detonating Large Barrel Bombs on a sleeping monster, activating environmental damage like falling boulders (I don't know if it works on the Ancient forest giant boulder because of how high up it is), safely activating the various ailment toads in the game from a distance, activating Vitality Plants from a distance (maybe helping out a teammate), dislodging scatter nuts in ancient forrest/wildspire waste and finally severing tails.

Is there any other uses for the Boomerang that I missed?

There isn't really a point is using them. You should always be carrying dung pies anyway due to chase off annoying monsters, and dung pods can also be used to trigger things like falling boulders.
