This list assumes you're going for perfect in every mission during the initial run and are going to beat all of the challenges, including the ultmate challenges.

High tier:

Rabbid Mario - He's basically got it all going for him. Tied for highest non-ability movement in the game. His dash hits huge areas and takes care of trash easily. He has the stone element on two good aoe damage sources (Vamp is good generally, but you will never want it on your shotgun when you can instead invalidate everything you hit even if they don't die. The hammer is a tossup since it's likely to kill anyway, but it's nice to freeze bosses in the ultimate challenges). Magnet + hammer (usually with M-Power) is a great way to take out big groups of enemies throughout the game and it only gets better with time. The only issue with him is that Bodyguard kinda sucks compared to shield and super barrier, but it's still 30% damage reduction every other turn.

Rabbid Luigi - The best thing about him is that he has two 160 damage dashes that give 100% Vamp. Vamp persists for the turn and works with overkill damage too, so if you see an enemy with 170 health left you can dash them and then have someone else blast them with a ~300 damage shot to regain most of their health. His other major pull is that he can use Super Barrier to negate overwatch bounce/pull/honey/burn from stopping you in your tracks. Weaken is pretty niche since it's almost always better to kill enemies in range rather than weaken them, but you can find use for it a few times and it's always up if Super Barrier is down lategame. He also gets a 100% chance Stone weapon when you beat the game so he can always do that if he can't kill something.

Rabbid Peach - Early in the game she's kinda mediocre, her skills are pretty low impact at base and she struggles to kill things. She's up this high for one reason however, upgrade her heal early and she has a 70% heal which can apply to Toad. The ability to heal Toad takes a ton of pressure off in the most difficult escort missions. Sentries also scale very well as the game goes on, their damage gets ridiculous, their movement range and attack range stack in terms of overall range (sentries can blow up as long as the enemy is in their range) and they both get buffed. She can dash things pretty well later on as well with four 100 damage dashes.

Mid tier:

Mario - You can't get rid of him so it seems a waste to tier him at all. His damage is good with his overwatch skill but it's on a 2 turn cooldown, his main draw lategame is going to be M-Power boosting damage by 70% on a 1 turn cooldown, allowing stuff like Luigi sentry + triple overwatch and Rabbid Mario's Magnet Dance + M-Power'd hammer. His own hammer is much harder to use than Rabbid Mario's but it still can be useful. His stomp ability is pretty strong early on with investment. His element of choice is Bounce, which can trigger his overwatch and occasionally get you 30 OOB damage. He suffers from movement and damage issues later on.

Luigi - You'll mainly want Luigi on your team when you are fighting someone you can't dash. Luigi is a powerful force against bosses, his Sentry does some good damage and he has triple overwatch to really give it to them. His Quick Feet ability can be used to great effect in many of the movement-based challenges and can help with escorts (although none of the game's escort missions require him). The reason he's this low is that he is damned squishy and in a lot of missions you need to be able to take a few hits. You can't even run Peach to help him out since such things are forbidden. His AoE damage is also kinda bad compared to others on the list since the sentry is only up every other turn. Ink is a great status effect though.

Low tier:

Rabbid Yoshi - He gets the Stone element on Grenaducks, which is decent, but his primary only has a 30% chance of stone before you beat the last ultimate challenge. His scream is bad (generally you want enemies to group up, not scatter). Outer Shell is pretty good since generally you won't need more than 2 uses, but it would fail in Ultimate Challenge 1.

Peach - Peach is kinda sad in this game, she makes a grand entrance and you think she'll be amazing but her kit really isn't any good. Burn and Freeze are the two worst status effects and that's all she ever gets to choose from. Her overwatch is okay, but with a shotgun you can often end up hitting your own team. Protection doesn't actually reduce damage to Peach and her heal is only 20% so she can find herself low pretty quickly. Her grenaducks are pretty weak and don't do anything interesting.

Yoshi - Yoshi is probably a bit better than Peach, but he shows up right at the end of the game and he's never worth using. Super Chance would be really great earlier on, but at that point everyone has 60%+ crit rates. His primary has annoying damage spread and bad crit rates. Egg beater is his best skill and it's on a 2 turn CD. Ink is good but you're better off going Luigi if that's what you want.

Yea i wish we got them sooner because I only use R. Yoshi on a mission i can tell will be easy. I just 100%ed Worlds 1-3; challenges, and all. Now I have world 4 to tackle and still get Yoshi.

I love this game and hope the DLC at least has 1-2 extra worlds but i feel we will only get 1 new world. I'd also love 1 new character and accompanying Rabbid, perhaps Daisy/R.Daisy for those here who are freaking out that she is not in. Lol

I'd prefer Birdo for a welcome change with an R. Birdo, but we'd most likely get Captain Toad/R. Toad which I'd be ok with too.

I'd put Mario and Luigi both above Rabbid Peach. I mean, I know Mario's kinda hard to tier anyway since he's necessary, but both of their overwatch skills combo so well with Rabbid Mario's magnet dance.

I think a lot of people over-value Rabbid Peach's healing, and undervalue Peach's. I feel like you guys just look at the 70% vs 20% and just leave it at that. Even though in reality, at best Rabbid Peach only heals once every third turn, so in that timeframe Peach is looking at more like 60% heals.

There are times where one big heal is more valuable than consistent smaller heals, and vice-versa, but it's important to remember that Peach is doing this healing without the use of her actual ability, meaning she can Overwatch or protect her team without giving up the ability to heal.

Peach also has higher damage output than Rabbid Peach. Rabbid Peach's drone only outclasses Peach's shotgun once you unlock the last drone via ultimate challenges, and even then, only by 10 points of damage. Peach will always output higher DPS over time because her shotgun can be used every turn, not only every 2 turns like drones. And

Of course, drones are longer-range, but on the flipside they basically cannot be used at short-range without blowing yourself up, so it's less of a straight advantage and more of a trade-off.

And I've gone all this time without mentioning Peach's crazy-huge HP pool, which combined with her basically-free 20% healing per turn lets her play very aggressively.

While I agree that Peach's status effects aren't very good, her rabbid clone only offers abilities that are effectively the same as Mario's. Yeah, bounce isn't quite the same as push, but you can't tell me they don't serve the exact same purpose 95% of the time. Now that isn't to say that having 2 of the same abilities on the same team isn't useful, but I do think that weakens the case for Peach having worse abilities than her counterpart, a bit.

Overall I'd place Peach equal to, if not above, Rabbid Peach.

I think Yoshi's not so bad either, but he probably belongs in bottom-tier just because he ends up being effectively very similar to Mario. Again, being similar isn't necessarily bad, but it hurts him worse than say, Rabbid Peach, because using Yoshi costs you the more specialized Luigi or Peach. I do maintain that his ground-pound can be very useful, however, for dealing wide damage and also for being unique in that it can break cover without being constrained to target certain enemies.

The only character I've really hardly found a use for is Rabbid Yoshi. He plays sort of like a knight in a Fire Emblem game, if knights didn't have any points to choke and also everybody had 10-range weapons. I don't like the stupid amount of damage variance on his gun, I think Grenaduck is the worst sub-weapon, and being able to protect himself from damage rarely seems to be important. I've tried making him work a few times, trying to cheese a few levels by using scaredy-rabbid to position enemies consistently so that Mario can jump off of them, but i've just never found a single use for it yet.

I don't really think "tiers" are necessary in a game with such a small cast, so I'll just order them from best to worst. I'm excluding Mario because trying to precisely place him feels like an exercise in pointlessness, but he's somewhere up top for sure.

1) Rabbid Mario
2) Luigi
3) Rabbid Luigi
4) Peach
5) Rabbid Peach
6) Yoshi
7) Rabbid Yoshi

The problem is that she has a ton of movement issues where Rabbid Peach can sit wherever she needs to. She needs to be simultaneously team jumping, landing next to her teammates, and landing next to the enemies to actually meatshot them. She also has no dash ability.

Rabbid Peach on the other hand can just use her Drone from a good ways away, heal either before or after movement, and has a Shield that actually blocks damage instead of eating it.

In terms of movement, Rabbid Peach only has 1 point of movement on Peach, and 1 point of pipe exit range. Yeah, that's useful, but not so drastic as you make it out to be, I think.

As for Peach's ability being tied to her jump, it's both a blessing and a curse. Using her alongside Rabbid Mario frequently, there aren't really any shortage of opportunities for her to jump on him, land near enough to heal, and then eviscerate an enemy at close-range.

And even at worst, she still has her grenaduck. I've already said I don't like it that much because I very rarely run into circumstances where good positioning can't yield better results, but the cool thing about the grenaduck is that it can hit pretty much any enemy within range 100% of the time, if you do find yourself in an odd position where you absolutely need to heal somebody who's not near a good spot to shotgun from.

Besides, Peach's whole kit is set up so that the one taking most of the damage should be herself. She can eat ally damage for them, draws enemy aggro by virtue of being one of the closest to their faces, and then she can team-jump and regardless of where she lands she'll be healing the damage she took for her team.

And that only protects herself. Really you can't even compare it to what Peach does.
