So, after finishing replicating my team on cart for the competition, I got back into BS for a bit. Decent start, not as good as I wanted or currently am on Showdown but oh well...

First.

I said this already, I really hate those players who just out of spite drag out a match they have ZERO chance of winning. It happened to be twice, pretty much back to back. With non-restricted teams on top. Taking forever with every decision (clearly letting the clock run out) and all the way to the end. I half-expected a disconnect coming from them just before the final blow.

So, irritated and exhausted I went into one more. Got a 1670 opponent (I took a real dive before quitting for awhile, remember). They lead Koko/Tornadus against my Groudon/Gothitelle. I was really unsure how to play this team. There was a Groudon, Xerneas, Steelix and one other I can't remember. I wasn't even sure I could get Trick Room up or if I should dare with that Steelix around. I locked in hastily at the virtually last second.

Turn 1: Gothitelle Protects, I switch into Incineroar, thinking I can Fake Tornadus and set up TR... Koko Taunts! Z-Move Tornadus.

Now, does Tornadus also has Taunt? Surely not.

Turn 2: I Fake Out Koko... Tornadus TAUNTS.

God damn it.

I basically just let Gothitelle struggle from there, got Groudon back in, absorbed a Volt Switch, avoided a Hurricane. Xerneas got to set up, next to their own Groudon. Somehow Gothitelle stuck around to get untaunted before I briefly sacrificed Incineroar for another Fake Out.

And then I started dodging Precipes Blades. First my own Groudon, allowing a last ditch Helping Hand to claim Xerneas with a Fire Punch.

End game situation.

Kyogre (full health)/Groudon (barely over red) VS Koko (full health)/Groudon (about half or so but that was unimportant)

I am slower. Heavy Rain is in place.

Koko only has Volt Switch, takes off half from Kyogre. PBlades sacks my Groudon and... MISSES Kyogre.

Origin Pulse hits both.

Won the game.

Phew... *huge sigh of relief* THAT was really lucky.

And another high-ranked win. 1711 or something. It was a pretty weird setup. Basically a standard KyoRay (Crobat, Bronzong, Ray, Koko, Incineroar...) but with Groudon. Felt rather uncertain about it but went in with Lele, Gothitelle. Helping Hand Psychiced Koko lead away which gave me an early lead. Their Bronzong proved annoying as we got into a Trick Room-reversal match. Thankfully, I got into an early good position which allowed a clean Water Spout on their special (thankfully) Groudon. Ray got annoying. It managed to Swords Dance while Bronzong and Gothitelle gambled on TR and stuff. Got a lucky Paralysis with one Thunder which paid off exactly when I needed it as Ray went for Protect but got Paralyzed, allowing my Groudon to pick it off.

I was going to play a few more but going out of the day with two wins against higher opponents, one lucky and one rather clean for the most part, is probably enough for me. lol

I do some more over the week and collect more vids. Hopefully I have a full batch before the tournament, otherwise you just get what I have and then another for the tournament (assuming I don't just run into noobs as I fear I will).

This team is proving to be the most stable VGC rule team attempt I ever made.

There is still some justice.

Didn't go that well on Showdown today. Got bogged down quite a bit. In this one, Kyogre got frozen by opposing Kyogre TWICE IN A ROW!

But!

It THAWED OUT TWICE IN A ROW!

Take that.

What is it with me and freeze. I freaking hate freeze. Freezes hates me (or perhaps likes me too much). It's just unreal that a WATER TYPE get frozen twice in a row. Honestly.

So, I call this victory justice and leave it at that for today.

Just two on BS. One loss, one... win.

The first I actually had the better position but I kept expecting Lunala to switch out of my trap in front of an Incineroar... twice. Twice I could have just Z-Moved, but twice they staid. I congratulate my opponent on being so ballys. Totally threw me, stole my momentum... and then I ran into Wide Guard despite getting weather control at the end.....

Second was normally my preferred setup but I really botched it somewhat at the end and won due to a forfeit at a point where I have no idea why.

So, opponent has a Special Groudon at full health left, an Incineroar and half health Fini left. I have my own Incineroar at like 4 HP (after the first Eruption), my half health Groudon and full health Metagross (yeah, wrong move or rather wrong timing since they switched Xerneas in on my Groudon which was the wrong sequence for me). I was pretty much screwed and have no idea why the forfeit even came. Okay, they may have expected Stomping Tantrum (which I don't have) but even then their Groudon was at full health and outspeeding everything else on my side... Unless it didn't have Earth Power for some very strange reason and/or feared not getting through my Groudon and Metagross. Even that didn't really warrant a forfeit in this situation...

I have no clue and don't particular feel I deserve credit for this one since my only real chance was to hope for one or two lucky Iron Head flinches.

Had they known I wasn't carrying Tantrum, this would have never happened.

Didn't think that would work at the end. Geez, that was a tight finish.

I think I need something else. When you play one team for so long, there comes a time when it becomes stale, which usually leads to a decline. Kind of stagnating between 1350 and 1400 right now.

Switched to my Rain team in Doubles since it was getting harder to pull off Perish Trap in the higher ranks.

Second time I thought this one close together. Won the first but Amoongus gave me trouble, so I let my alternate pair and it worked really well.

Holy crap.

It exists. Z-Geomancy.

All the bulk investment in Metagross paid off here. Why exactly Ray did NOT Mega Evolve I will never know. Would have outsped me then and I'm not sure I could have pulled through it then.

Two more for BS. Two "wins". Don't feel particular good about the second one, again.

First was fairly clean, although it came down to hiding Dual Punch on my Metagross and calling the Ray switch-in correctly (had I not, it would have probably been over) and there was no Sash (so a clean OHKO).

Second, I should have lost. Being bogged down by my Brave 4 Speed Groudon (that's the lowest I have) really cost me here as I got Trick Room up at heavy cost against Lunala. Opposing Fini set Gravity+Swagger on their Groudon and while I dropped one Intimidate on them, but their Groudon was indeed slower (hence, now faster) than mine and it cost me my only Lunala check in Incineroar. My Groudon barely hung on to clean up but at this point even had Metagross gotten a flinch and Groudon somehow gotten through Lunala it was at 9 HP and their own Incineroar could have probably overwhelmed me single-handed.

I "won" due to a connection loss on their end.

In a way I guess this might balance out the loss weeks ago I told you about when my connection crapped out on me literally the moment the final animations for a clear win started. Still don't feel too good about winning that way. Oh well, crawled myself back into 1600s with that at least.

That... was strange.

Just seeing a GHASTLY totally threw me. Didn't really expect Inner Focus Dragonite either. Just barely made it out.

Two wins, one loss.

Don't feel too bad about the loss. You know, when you see a Lunala, you expect MMM... not All-Out Pummeling into your Incineroar... urgh. I knew I had pretty much lost when I saw the animation. At least with the team I got back up to the standing I had before my catastrophic plunge shortly before I took my BS break. So I'll end it here. I won't be able to play tomorrow and this is a nice standing to keep over the weekend while the comp is happening. As such I only have eight vids.

Two leftovers from before my break as well.

HFTG-WWWW-WWX7-WQU5

This was an awkward start and turned into a rather long battle. Paralysis at the right point and Recover on Ho-oh saved the match.

VRZG-WWWW-WWX7-WQUG

The last hurrah of Mudsdale as far as saved Battle Videos go. ;)
Or so I'd like to say but it didn't really do much other than chip Ray a little.
It turned into another long battle. 35 turns between this and the last. Lol

...

I didn't use a Water attack with Kyogre. At all. ;)

TT3W-WWWW-WWX7-WQUS

That was the match with the Double Taunt which was kind of annoying but well... Close finish. It was their mistake for letting my Gothitelle stick around all the way through its Struggle. And then a lot of dodging at the right moments.

73JW-WWWW-WWX7-WQV6

I considered Koko the bigger threat here. I also know from my calcs Lele can live one PBlades... well, it was Earth Power, so, even better.
The Skill Swap play was excellent but then Paralysis helped me out again.

PKJG-WWWW-WWX7-WQVL

Normally it's the kind of team setup and starting situation the team loves and I know how to play. I didn't quite play it as effectively as I wanted since their Incineroar was slower than mine and my Groudon despite being offensive which was a little awkward since it got out of the trap. In the end I don't quite understand the Forfeit at this point. Even if they did not know that I wasn't carrying Tantrum, their Groudon was unhurt and it takes quite a few Tantrums to get through that (a reason why I don't quite grasp why Tantrum, is the preferred SECOND move in every listing)... oh well.

2JYG-WWWW-WWX7-WQVQ

The calls here were pretty easy. This is the situation that works nicely for me. Of course, I had to call the Rayquaza right, which I did, and surprise them with Double Punch. It's important to hide that if you run both until the right moment.

RZUG-WWWW-WWX7-WRW4

To be honest, I gambled a lot here. There was a Crobat in the Team Preview I expected to lead. Whenever there is a Crobat I always have to gamble with this or a similar pressure lead since Gothitelle would just get Taunted otherwise. So Lele often has to serve as a sacrifice. It turned out okay in this instance. The only thing that could have gone wrong would have been a double-in on Gothitelle. It's kinda rare to see Earth Power on a Sash Ray...
To be honest I played this game wrong because I should have switched Kyogre in first since the speed matchup between Lando and my 28+ Speed Metagross is dependent on whether or not Lando is Jolly. I got off lucky there.

HXCG-WWWW-WWX7-WRW9

Of course, the Crobat was here, only at the end which is kinda rare. When I saw the opening combo I was sure I was screwed. Am I glad I went with the high SpD spread for Gothitelle. Still surprised it lived NM+Shadow Ball at this point. The Z-Move was calculated. I had a feeling I would need the damage done on Groudon and at the same time needed Groudon off the field. And as it turned out, the extra damage played out. Thankfully no Brave Bird on the Crobat (I half-expected it).
