Hey I'm pretty new too but my understanding is that for magick archer you are going to want to play sorcerer mostly and not so much magick archer. For your first play through though just play around with everything and learn what you like!

For a pawn all I know is avoid guardian as an inclination. Someone hopefully will post soon with more knowledge i am still learning lol

For magick archer, make sure to rank up sorcerer enough to get the augments Acuity, Emphasis and Articulacy; you might also want to rank up mage for Attunement and if you want to use your daggers regularly, warrior for Clout and possibly fighter for Vehemence (Impact from warrior is another option in place of Vehemence).

Any pawn vocation can work with any Arisen but IMO fighters and striders are generally the most consistently useful followed by rangers and sorcerers, with warriors (sadly) and mages being at the bottom. Sorcerers are also more reliant on a good team setup to perform well which is something to consider if you don't want to go so in depth into team building.
LOLI IS HOLY!

While Pawn vocation is important as it can compliment or offset your Arisen's playstyle, a Pawn's "Inclinations" are just as important. These dictate how a pawn behaves in/out of battle and can render yours really helpful, or useless.

The following 2 links/guides from the Wiki should help you out:

Magic archer can be built anyway you like. I have 2 with one being maximum magic and the other being max strength. Both work well.

I find it best to have a pawn build that is similar to my arisen (so my max magic archer has a sorc pawn whilst my max strength has a physical damage pawn) which makes dragon forging your pawns gear much easier.
Pawns - Skull Sniper(Bivage), Selene(EgaviB), Sophitia(Egavi13)

One question, doesn't the magic bows use magic to attack? Or is it like enchanted swords, and the like?

Magick Bow is all magick but a max strength Magick Archer is good with skills like Immolation.
