It may be a ghost town here but I'll dump this guide in case somebody needs to know. Unlike practically every other character, Beck lacks any sort of ability. Instead, as the game puts it, his strength comes from his wide array of customisation options. For looking like a normal Megaman game, and being a normal Megaman-type, his breadth of customisation is actually fairly daunting — at least on a surface level, as right off the bat he can equip up to 9 (10 if you find it) bullet types on top of every other variable.
So what do these bullet types actually do, if there's already elements in place?
Answer: They add and subtract options for your shots.
I went through what each bullet type changes and below will summarise the pros and cons for each. To start off every bullet type has the full options of: On-screen bullets: 1 - 5 Piercing: Terrain, enemies, or both. Duration: 0.2 sec up to 5.0 secs.
The options Method of Fire NORMAL No shield. Limited options for Spread Shot and Cluster Shot.
FIRE / CRYSTAL / SPARK / GYRO Every option and variable.
DRILL / MISSLE / BLADE / TRACER No shield. Every option and variable otherwise.
MINE Single Fire & Shield only. Spread Shot selectable but variables otherwise inaccessible. (Bug)
Trajectory NORMAL Regular variables throughout No Return or Bounce
FIRE Large Homing, Curve and Wave options No Return or Reflect
CRYSTAL Large Reflect options No Wave, Curve or Crawler
SPARK Large Homing, Curve, Wave and Return options No Reflect or Bounce
DRILL No Wave, Bounce, Bounce or Crawler
MISSLE Large Homing and Curve options No Return, Reflect, Bounce or Crawler
GYRO Large Curve, Wave and Return options All options
BLADE No Wave or Crawler
TRACER Large Reflect options No Return, Bounce or Crawler
MINE Stationary only
Dissipation NORMAL Most options Regular variables
FIRE / SPARK Large Diffusion options No Explosion
