Are New stats based on what blood code you’re in? Things like Strength, dexterity, will power, etc.? I like how you can level different passives and grab certain skills from different trees, but I imagine certain weapons have weight and stat requirements you might want to fine-tune

Yeah, your stats depend on your blood code. Stat requirements and even weight you can get around with certain passives.

So at every level, every player would have the same stats? All that would matter is how you arrange your blood codes and skills?

Pretty much. Some blood codes are far superior than others though. Levels aren't useless, as you still get more health and a damage increase from it for example. The increase may seem small at first, but there's a noticeable difference between being a lvl 1 or 50, or lvl 100 and 300.

That's my biggest disapointment with veils. No matter how much you upgrade, only damage done goes up, not damage resisted. I'm not even getting a sense that my element buffs are reducing damage either.

It seems like I can still be two shotted by a boss, buffed or not.

Level affects health and damage done. Incrementally.

Most of the effects are equipment based.

If you're mad at being 2 shotted, just level up your HP to make it 3. If you want to ignore elemental damage...

Hp only goes up 12 points and then reduces all the way to 3 per level up at level 200 and beyond, which I only had 2300+ maybe 2700. O and S 2.0 and every boss after will absolutely make you have a bad day.

you basically get the same damage with every code except with very slight grade damage penalties, and you get the ability to equip steroid passive gifts and use steroid actives that push your stat grade past the boundaries so you can even use weapons a class "wasn't supposed" to be using. it's a better system than phantasy star's class system by supporting multiple weapon variety with no skill equipping restriction, so the build variety is high. (but 4 passives seems kinda low to me with how much people are breaking things with 8 actives). stat customization would not be preferable I think since people would just min max even harder their one shot builds.
