u really think EA was dealt and blow today?

just look for comments and topics about people buying the game now that u cant buy crystals that will be popping up.

yeah, but thats the way it should be, they SHOULD make money off people buying the game, not buying crystals.

my point is that they sold a ton of loot crate already to early access people

then removes it and people are happy and will buy it.

to me this is a win/win for EA unless people dont buy the game

you know what the worst part of this is?

EA didnt have to implement pay to win in the game ruining it in the process. for gods sake the first one sold 14 million and it was half a game. based off brand name alone they would have made a killing,

but no. they had to succumb to more f***ing greed.

drops in the bucket compared to the masses that would have bought the 60 version day 1.

Trust me when I say we just changed history today. We're in control of our own destinies now. :)

Dont let up!

we will see.

keep an eye out on their stocks and sales numbers.

personally i dont think it will hurt them at all.

i actually think they were really smart to remove microtransactions right before launch and getting tons of free good publicity because of it.

i dont care either way i dont own EA stocks.

well their stock dropped this week amid the news. but they will recover.

just imagine the killing they would have made had they not had that 3 day early access. they actually f***ed themselves by letting us play it early.

i wouldnt say they were really smart.. they had to take it down. and i'd bet my whole salary that disney made them do it. if they were really smart they would have had nothing that could be purchased except cosmetics. the game based off name alone would have sold like water in a drought. and it still will but nowhere near what it could have sold.

stock going down this week has a lot to do with other issues. most stocks took a big tumble Wednesday but it recovered today.

true. purchasing respawn could have also contributed to that. but it would be...dismissive of us to think this weeks news didnt have a negative affect on their stock.

really its going to take a hell of a lot more than this to bring EA down. it would take all of us going after all their games with MT in them. realistically that wont happen.

what can happen though is they lose the right to the star wars IP when the contracts up. their money printing machine would dry up and the star wars IP can be passed to a dev that doesnt have an evil publisher behind it. that sir, is the victory i hope for and as we all know rebellions are built on hope.

i would like to thank another poster here for using that last line. it was brilliant. kudos to you.

Really the problem I see here is the same as I see for Disney. EA and Disney both seem to be in the habit of wanting to form a monopoly. EA has been buying up devs left and right just like Disney did with SW and Marvel and now from what is being said they are looking at having a go at getting Fox.
