Reeve
Stewart
Simmons

Are the PERFECT trilogy. Literally their characters. Looks and attitude.

Then we have the 90%ers:
Affleck, cept the killing.
Jackman, cept the height.
Downey, cept the jokes.
Evans, crept he lacks gruffness/backbone. Comic Cap Ian more authoritative. Evans is "too soft".
Cavill, cept more warmth.
Gadot, cept a slight weight gain. Mostly in the thighs, tbh.

Agreed. A lot of newer picks come close but don't quite nail it completely. No one can beat the holy trinity. Still really great casting choices though.

The only "perfect" casting choices were in the OP. Stewart and RDJ. Everyone else had at least some issues even if in retrospect they seem perfect for the role (Hugh Jackman comes to mind).

Then how the f*** is RDJ perfect since he acts different than comic Tony?

As you might have noticed it's mostly about physical apperance. Patrick Stewart looks like Professor X jumped out of a comic book and became real.

This is about perfect casting choices. Not about perfectly comic-accurate movies.

Correct. And...?

Sorry, I meant to quote Kal.

Jackman and Downey are cases of the character being changed to fit the actor. But in their cases it made them popular beyond belief so it works.

Afleck is more a case of the actor made to fit the character.

And as much as I like Reeve, I still feel Routh was THE best Superman. Dude oozes charm especially on Legends and Arrow.

The problem with Routh is that the movie he was in did him no favors as the character. So almost all he has going for him is looks and general attitude.

Born to play Wonder Woman just like Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark and Patrick Stewart is Professor X. Great movie, finally a DC one on par with Marvel movies.

No...just no. It is being said that now because the movie was a success.

And Routh looked like Superboy, not Superman.

MCU castings suck except for Jackson since he was cast to play himself.
