I remember people used to consider Julia fast and would opt for a +Spd IV.

Playing since day 1, I don't remember that. I remember that is was a "deny double" spd tier. That's why +spd Julia was a thing. I wasn't on this this board the first months too.

Since day 1, if the unit had 30-32 spd, they would consider building them to double.

Back in my day we didn’t have all these fancy skills and we liked it, and back in my day 35 spd was considered fast.

So they weren't fast, they had to be built to become fast. Mmmm...

I honestly can't remember if there was ever a time Julia considered fast.....

Speed benchmark on release iirc are; red - tharja, blue - linde, green - nino.

If you can't double neutral Linde (36 speed base), you are not "fast".

Building a unit day 1 with no inheritance sounds fun.

It was always exactly in-between that was scary for me, 33 Spd. That's also the neutral speed of Takumi, who was my biggest threat back then.

In Day 1 days 33 Spd and above was scary imo.
