Doing bad things for good reasons doesnt immediately make you "morally grey".
Come on, guys. Scar is a morally grey villain in the Lion King because he wants what's best for the hyenas.

That's how it works! /s

Is burning people a universal requirement then?
Still using one route that shows a completely alter personality of her via being unhinged out of the 4 to determine her entire character? Lol

I dunno, man... if Edelgard’s song was just as good or better as “Be Prepared”, I’ll be willing to join her side.

Right now, I’d put “Edge of Dawn” on the same level as that yodeling bad guy’s song in Home in the Range.

Possibly the most forgettable mainline Disney animated movie.

That's who she is. Rhea wasn't magically swapped out for a different character in a certain route. And it's much more consistent with the Seiros we saw at the opening of the game compared to the facade she's wearing as Rhea. If you want to judge a character, you need to consider all the routes. What lows is the character willing to sink to and what does it take for them to get there?

In Rhea and Edelgard's case, it means sacrificing innocents because some guy they want to take possessive ownership over didn't kneel to them. Even at their best, they're both deceptive and manipulative.

Between their egos, their creepy obsession with Byleth, their extremism, their callous disregard for human life, and their penchant for lying, the two are very similar. The main difference is that whereas Edelgard is a cold blooded sociopath, Rhea is a deranged psychopath.

That isn't who she is, because she didn't show any of these traits in the other 3 routes. You are using 1 route to compare to her other 3. It's much more consistent doesn't mean jack since she didn't show this side of her in the other routes, but the one where she became unhinged by someone she trusted, and the person who is basically connected to her mother who she believed Byleth is taking from her. And basically most of the time in CF was her pretty much directly aiming at Byleth personally. You are pretty much inserting a headcanon on Rhea to make it look like that's her true personality where it was on apparent from a different circumstance in 1 route. If this was her true colors she would be acting directly like serios right after the "betrayal" in chapter 11 in all the other ones. Yeah i considered the other routes where she isn't like this compared to the 1 she is, and she did pretty villain s*** in it, but it's def not her true char from the lore we are provided in the context of the game.

IS needed a villain for CF and basically 180'd Rhea to fit the part.

Indeed. Since Dimitri didn't murder them, since they attacked him, and in war, he has the right to behead the little scums.

No, Scar is more like a communist leader riling up the hyena proletariat against the bourgeois lions.

Again, Edie is NOT a villain. If you're comparing songs, then:

And without Byleth, Dimitri is practically foaming at the mouth-rabid. The sanest house leader is probably Claude, but then the Alliance gets disbanded in all endings, so ha.
