Correct, Edelgard isn't involved in that battle. It's actually Hubert and the rest of House Vestra who war against them, alongside Byleth. Potentially, their spouses can too. On that note, I can't recall if marrying Edelgard has it so she fights them as well.

It's funny if Byleth marries Hubert because they end up forming a tight bond because of the war against TWSITD. Edelgard becomes a third wheep lmao

Yes we are all aware she doesn't go to war with TWSITD in her endings lol.
People just trolling on here.
Rhea was apparently too busy trying to revive a dead goddess to deal with them, and Edelgard just flat out didn't establish most things she claimed she'd do in her route. In the end both didn't deal with them personally.

from Lysithea x Edelgard ending
After the war, Edelgard and Lysithea threw themselves into the fight against those who slither in the dark. The struggle was long and arduous, but not without its benefits. With careful analysis of ancient techniques, they discovered ways to recover the years of life that had been stolen from them. Afterwards, the new Adrestian emperor and Lysithea, her trusted officer, devoted the rest of their lives to Fódlan's rule. For her counsel in instituting class reforms and ensuring the independence of the people, Lysithea came to be known as the Wisdom of the Empire. The pair of talented women ushered Fódlan into a new age of innovation and prosperity.

Well yeah but that one is to be expected. Lysithea is definitely after TWSITD blood (seriously though VW Lysithea is screaming for their complete annihilation) so it would be stranger if Edelgard x Lysithea DIDN'T have a confrontation against them.

But the fact is, Edelgard would not fight them ordinarily. That's a job for Hubert and House Vestra. And frankly, he's a better choice for it.

So it takes a char who's not even naturally in her house to deal with the problem she claimed she was going to deal in her route story wise?
It's a alternate ending from a char not even in BE. Lysithea's parents were pro empire, and she had a personal vendetta against TWSITD herself and wanted them eradicated. It was made clear in VW she wanted this, and in BE she shown similar viewpoints to Edelgard of wanting the crest system gone, but Edelgard still didn't naturally take them out in her solo ending nor in the actual story where she makes these claims.

Edelgard's a danger that needs to be put down. Rhea is simply pure evil and deserves her death. I will say that one thing that's annoying is that we never see characters get called out on their actions. I'm not even asking for consequences, I just want to see these interactions. The Golden Deer finding out that Claude demanded Byleth give up Jeralt's diary in a state of emotional weakness, or Edelgard needing to justify her alignment to TWSITD to Lysithea, and such.

Also, I wonder if Rhea was telling the truth about Byleth's mother being in critical condition due to child birth. Jeralt didn't seem to buy it. And it seems a bit...convenient. Rhea believes that due to his genetics, Byleth was in a unique position where he had the best chance among Rhea's test experiments to house Sothis. Good thing his mother just happened to be on her death bad, making it reasonable for Rhea to remove the Crest Stone and make Byleth her new experiment.

she also does it in her ending with Byleth. because in the other endings she is in a race against the clock to finish her goals before she dies, all the other endings have her working Tirelessly until she achieves the reforms she promised.

Also Lysithea is recruitable during the war (the only one you don't need to recruit during the school in order to spare even!) and does understand what Edelgard went through better than anyone else.

Still doesn't change it from being alternate, and the fact she's not part of the BE main story, and it made sense for them to deal with TWSITD because they both have problems against them.
She does do it with Byleth, but even then. Why do we see them dealt with off screen in ending text? Even VW dealt with them better, it's why i can't take CF seriously.

So only under select circumstances, great. Those endings are more Byleth/Lysithea endings than hers because Byleth's spouses often end up fighting TWSITD with them, so Edelgard isn't special. And Lysithea would never allow them to go unchecked, so it's more of a Lysithea ending there.

Again, the fact is, Edelgard simply can't be bothered most of the time. Good thing we have Hubert, I hope she at least said "Thanks Hubert".

Have to agree with this. In nearly ever CF ending, Byleth and his spouse go to kill TWSITD. Lysithea's the only person who I'd say hates them as much if not more. Hell in VW, you have Byleth encouraging Lysithea to go completely genocidal on them.
