Train your in house units and don't spread out your xp to recruited units, as you'll never be able to clear the first chapter post-time skip. As your only playable units will be your house characters with s*** loads of enemies.

Feel's a little wrong if that's the case, I benched Ignatz and Raphael so you telling me they didn't think people would recruit or something? they are level 3 my main units 23 ish.

RIP well uh... GL, I hope Lorenz can solo the north end, or Byleth and Claude will be strong enough to cut their way up to protect them.

Pretty sure the enemies just stay still.

The enemies on the north and south stay still pretty much forever unless you aggro them. Ditto for northeast group.

I know from experience because I've taken my time on that map and they were fine until I could escort Marianne to heal them.

they stay still for a few turns, but then they'll start moving, there was a youtuber who was live streaming, GD Maddening with no NG+ and because he mostly neglected his own house, he's incapable of clearing the chapter.

time stamp is at 1hr 10mins, feel free to watch it, he thought he was safe then all of a sudden they all s tarted moving.

I thought this was the logical choice given the scarce EXP?

In any FE's extreme difficulty modes, the best approach is always to strictly limit the number of units that get the EXP Pie.
