After researching what is being a sociopath, @Ein is right about Dimitri being a sociopath:

According to healthline.com:

There’s no clinical difference between a sociopath and a psychopath. These terms are both used to refer to people with ASPD. They’re often used interchangeably

People with ASPD may also use “mind games” to control friends, family members, co-workers, and even strangers. They may also be perceived as charismatic or charming.

The symptoms that applies to Dimitri are:

-Uses others
-Doesn’t make any long-term plans.
-Shows aggressive or aggravated behavior.
-Doesn’t consider their own safety
-Doesn't follow up on personal or professional responsibilities.

Hurray!!!! Except Edelgard is also a Sociopath:

-Doesn’t respect social norms or laws.
-Lies, deceives others, uses false identities or nicknames, and uses others for personal gain.
-Doesn’t make any long-term plans.
-Shows aggressive or aggravated behavior. (Starts an unnecessary war)
-Doesn't follow up on personal or professional responsibilities. (More on personal)
-Doesn’t feel guilt or remorse (arguable, but she seems to be less remorseful than Dimitri)

Uh... El very clearly makes long term plans. And no matter how you slice it, the war was necessary for Fodlan to change. Really, most of the “points” you mentioned against El are reaching at best and flat out wrong at worst.

No, it wasn't necessary. Hanneman is proof of that, and no matter how necessary it is, it never justifies her actions. Necessary or not, she needs to pay for her sins.

Genuine question: do you think revolutionaries are "evil"? After all, they start wars, and according to you anyone who starts a war is objectively evil, no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Depends. Did they throw the first stone? Or was the governement? If they threw the first stone, then yes, they are. One can only start a revolution if the government itself is evil. Edelgard starts a war that nobody asked for.

....wow. The fantasy land you live in must be wonderful.

Not really. Since I live in reality and see evil for what it is. Evil people are a reality, and they need to die to prevent more evil from being done.

So there is nothing wrong with the crest system and everybody including Ingrid, Sylvain, Mercedes, Lysithea etc is happy with it?

Whatever they are happy with it or not. Change must happen in a proper manner that doesn't cause innocents to suffer, and thus the best possible outcome is to avoid war altogether, better for a few to endure it for a bit longer, than have the entire continent suffer. Also, the problem isn't the crests themselves, but the policies that go with them. Laws should be enforced so that those whitout crests aren't discriminated against and given the same chances as those who do. The crest weapons should be outright be banned from use to avoid situations like Sylvain's brother, who by the way deserved his fate, since he was a scumbag.

What majority? If it's the majority, then that means that the government threw the first stone, thus justifying a revolution. Since no proper government would allow most of the population to suffer to protect a few.

Laws will be changed, if Blue Lions win, since Byleth will be the archbishop and as a close confidant of Dimitri, such laws would be enforced. And even then, Hanneman would bring up a solution anyway.

cool, then I guess Edelgard's justified in her rebellion and everyone else is evil.

glad to know I'll soon be able to join the righteous and smite evil

No, she isn't. The majority aren't suffering, and which governement is at fault in the first place? Since the church doesn't hold that kind of power.

If you side with Edelgard, you are in the wrong. Edelgard means for change are wrong.

If he wanted change, she should have done so in her own country and leave the others out of it.
