  2. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
  3. Yae or Nay: The Plot is better without TWSITD or a revamped version (spoil)

The currently accepted worst written parts of this game all are about Team Slithery or connect to them anyway (Death Knight and Kronya both being failed Zelgius analogues namely). They're obviously there to just so there are notable enemies to kill who aren't from the playable factions but unlike Anankos' game their game's war is over bigger things then the Lord's feefees. They're too big on being mustache twirling supervillains to be sympathetic and only edgelords defend them.

It's like they were supposed to be the game's big villain but the plot grew past them.

I think Three Houses was doing a lot of world building beside the whole main plot. I can very much see the next game in the FE series taking place in the same world, building upon the groundwork Three Houses laid.
Some of the greatest catastrophe's ever committed by man have been done with the "Best of Intentions."

I'd say that's exactly it. They wanted to set up a world with a history - a conflict that was larger than any one person, but the game is much more focused on the lives of the characters in the present. They're only important by what we're told or what's implied, but in terms of events and developments in the game, Slither is not very important, only sometimes being a shallow catalyst to advance the story.

Personally, I think Edelgard and Dimitri's routes would work better if TWSITD were instead just a mundane conspiracy of nobles who did basically the same things, but for more immediate and limited reasons - crest research to try and save their power, monsters as a plan to reconquer the Kingdom, so on and so forth.

But GD and the Church kind of need a TWS to properly scale - when you a have a plot about the literal reincarnation of a goddess and ancient history, you need an antagonist linked to them. Without a conspiracy linked to that time, the other alternative would be to make Rhea obviously evil on GD's route as well, which would mess with the ambiguity the game is going for.

I guess they could also go with a mundane conspiracy of nobles having found out Rhea's secret trying to exploit it, but... That risks feeling very petty if they handle it wrong.

All you'd need is to establish the remnants of the leadership Seiros went to war with long ago were absorbed into other kingdoms and carried some of their secrets with them. Over time their feats were remade until they could build weaponry to slay a dragon.

No one organization. No cop-out to avoid showing Edy's uncle as a dastard.

I bet they put the slithery bois in the game so people would focus on them as being the real, true, absolutely 100% confirmed bad guys who caused all the bad things so people wouldn't feel the need to defend their choices on which route they took and which lord they sided with.

Clearly that didn't work out, though.
Mythra's censored art in Smash Ultimate looks better than her original art and would've made Xenoblade 2 a slightly more bearable and good game.

Nope. It kept the game fresh. Thank god some of y'all aren't in charge of the story.

Of course you'd say that being one of the edgelords.

The only edgelords are the ones complaining about the story when it is getting universal acclaim and even getting attention from non gaming publications.
