As in is it better to memorize the whole colour and drop order and just work on setting them all quickly or is it random? I'm struggling to improve and would like to know how drops work basically.

In versus mode:
1. Puyo - Completely random. Color droughts are seen often. Both players have the same randomly generated sequence in order to keep it balanced. Planning ahead for your build is not possible beyond the 2 preview window you have.

2. Tetris - Follows the 7-bag randomizer rule. This means you are served a permutation of the 7 pieces which translates that for every 7 pieces, you are guaranteed one of every piece. This means the worst possible drought for any piece you need is 14 pieces. You can use this to your advantage in order to plan your stack ahead along with your preview pieces.

In Party and Fusion Mode:
Dropsets are done in accordance to fever rules and are complex. Each character has their own unique style. You can read more on the Puyo Nexus wiki for indepth details and will show what each character's dropset looks like: https://puyonexus.com/wiki/Dropset
We're surrounding you. We see you, but you probably don't see us. And if you see us, we're not letting on that we see you.
