Thus, they should be given appropriate equivalents in other languages. Names which mean more-or-less the same thing, are apt, and are understood by the speakers of the language the game is translated into.

Too bad there's so few examples of this in Xenoblade 2. The Treehouse is f***ing s*** at translating. They phonetically translate names sometimes. Remember Beruka and Verus?

You keep bringing up Treehouse, but I'm pretty certain that they didn't do Xenoblade 2. It has a British script and British voice acting, after all. I don't think Treehouse would be capable of that (especially the script). It would have surely been done by Nintendo of Europe, possibly by the same people as the first game.

Correct. XC2 was done by Nintendo of Europe, same as XC1.

No, it wasn't. NoA handled a majority of the script and major decisions in the script and localization. They used the same Voice casting agency they used for X even. NoE just helped out the work load similar to how 8-4 helped out with X, which is probably why there wasn't as many grammar and punctuation errors in so many of the sidequests because NoE is actually mostly competent when it comes to actually proofreading their translations, unlike the treehouse and 8-4. The XB1 team wasn't on it at all. If you look at the credits the same names pop up that were in X for the NoA translator team.

Now you are just lying to people now the treehouse didn't touch this game, it was strictly Nintendo of Europe

There's only so faithfully one can translate a work and still have it stand as a worthwhile piece of fiction.

It's very very simple: If nobody is complaining about your localization, you've done your job.

Things I complain about Xenoblade X's localization:
Removal of religious references for non-religious ones.
Removal of references to Xenogears and Xenosaga.
The insertion of Memes into the script where there was none.
Name changes which are both silly and ruin established lore.

If the translators do their job and *shocker* actually talked to the dev team for research, this wouldn't happen.

These things are even worse than any design censorship but for some reason people don't care.

That's because most people care about nudity than history, morals, or religion.

I'd say that's half true. The people who support censorship and defend it typically only care about nudity. Like, mention Xenoblade X's bad translation on any website and you'll just get accused of being a pedophile because for some reason they don't bring up literally any of the other censorship.

Cool, a topic about a neat, optional, costume that winds up making some people b**** about censorship.

Y'all need a chill pill or at least go out for a bit.

You're the only one that seems to be upset honestly. We're just having a tame discussion on a censored outfit nintendo is trying to pass off and keep backlash to a minimum by releasing it as free DLC for the game the content came from.

Take your own advice and go sit in a corner for a while until you can discuss the topic like an adult instead of a teenager.

Quite literally NOBODY from X's localization worked on Xenoblade 2 (which makes me wonder if that "mass firing" rumor after Tokyo Mirage Sessions was true).

We're done here. You are literally lying to try and win an argument.

Is the outfit purely cosmetic or does it give any benefits?

I believe it comes in the form of an Auxiliary Core with a 25% critical hit rate boost.
