One of the all time best fighting series. I was never good at them but I admire how deep the 2nd entry can be. In fact VF2 is still one that me and my buddy play, along with Fighter MegaMIX. I'm going with Megamix though for how good it still is. I wouldn't have counted it as a part of the VF series but looking at GFAQS and Wiki it looks like it belongs here.

Also please feel free to vote other if you liked one of the many Japanese exclusive titles. Until now I've never heard of them.

Fighters Megamix is a MUST OWN Saturn game.

I personally wouldn't count Megamix as part of the main VF series, but no big deal. That game is 5/5 though!

I voted for my favorite: VF2. Always will be. That game was just so incredible upon release. However, I believe 4: Evolution and 5: Final Showdown to be superior, all things considered.

My personal ranking:
1) VF2
2) VF3tb
3) VF4
5) VF5
6) VF Kids (seriously just SD VF2 with new music/graphics but has cool endings!)
7) VF/Remix

Honestly, the only games on the list I don't feel the need to ever go back to is VF/Remix. The rest I could play forever.

Voted VF4:EVO. Still the greatest 3D fighter of all time, IMO.

Fighter's Megamix, IMO, isn't a VF game because it uses a modified mix of the VF engine with the Fighting Vipers engine, and even though you have the "option" to pick it's not really the same. Great game, though.

I didn't realize Fighters Megamix was on the poll, or else I would've voted that instead of VF2. Doh!

I thought Megamix was close to Fighting Vipers too.

I was a little surprised seeing it on Wikipedia but I felt that if I didn't include it I'd get b****ed at.

Not really since Fighters Megamix isn't even part of the VFseries (although the TC still managed to leave out VF5: Final Showdown for whatever reason while mentioning all the other versions of each VF game).

But yes, Fighters Megamix is a great game. It's not a game about balance or tournament fighting or any of that.

It's about using Akira Yuki to fight an race card from Daytona USA.

As for which is the best in the series, it's a tough call between VF4: Evolution and VF5: Final Showdown.

VF5 is sorely missing the single player content VF4 offered, but there were some great new characters added in the VF5 games like El Blaze and Eileen as well as the return of Taka-Arashi
