  3. Why does fox need every animated sitcom to be about a wacky family?

“wacky family gets into crazy situations” is the premise for all animated sitcoms on fox and it’s gotten old at this point

trying to make every animated sitcom just like the Simpson’s even after this long when it’s obvious doing the same thing for every show doesn’t mean every show will be a Simpson’s level hit is stupid

Laziness.

Why does Fox air these? Either the cartoonists can't come up with some more original, Fox is too scared to air something more ambitious, or better cartoonists are afraid that Fox will sabotage their show (explains why Disenchantment wasn't on Fox; it was likely because Matt Groening was afraid that Fox would sabotage it after what they did to Futurama).

Literally every Fox animated sitcom made after the 2000s is garbage (except for Bob's Burgers and Duncanville).

Smart Choice. They would have f***ed Disenchantment. Still pissed at the garbage network for what they did to Futurama. Sat on it from Second Season in the hopes of Smothering it. Eventually got their way... f***ers.

I'll get back up for good this time and I ain't comin' down...
Fox is pretty scared to go past their comfort zone. Back in the 90's and early 00's, every major network was doing this. However, as those networks moved on from this trend (as one should), Fox was like that last kid playing in the snow who didn't want to go back inside.

Tyler, The Creator has reteamed with two of his bandmates in the Odd Future collective and Adult Swim series Loiter Squad for a new animated comedy at Fox.

The network is developing Shell Beach and has handed the project, which comes from Fox Entertainment and Bento Box Entertainment, a script commitment.

The show follows an overzealous lifeguard named Wally and his very smart, but lazy partner, Tyson, who, along with their unique group of friends, inhabit Shell Beach – the most famous beach town in the world. Wally’s passion to be the best lifeguard often makes very simple problems become much more complex than they ever would need to be.

There you go. One not about a family.
