Are those sales numbers or shipped numbers....?

Exactly what I was thinking.

Activision claimed the exact same thing when they "sold a billion dollars worth of the game." It turns out, they shipped that amount to retailers who had a difficult time selling it and returned most of it.
The height of stupidity is complaining about other people complaining. Especially on a game board which isn't meant to just blindly promote the game.

Pretty sure we have data reporting that the game was a huge success at launch.

you have data that sez people bought a lot of games based off the amazing first game not realizing they were buying half a great game.

If you'd worked there for any lengh of time you'd know single player games generally get traded in sooner rather than later, because people want the most money they can get for them after finishing them

Why are people acting like this is a new thing?!?

There always a ton of standard copies, if was a picture of bunch of Collector editions laying around then I could see the point. I played and beat the game and don't see what all the hate is about.

This game sold through, as in to customers, 4 million copies in three days.

Indeed. Free to play games got more players in a full month than a $60 new release did in 3 days. That must obviously mean the new release is an absolute failure.

Bruh its 2020. Who the hell buys physical media? lol

Smart buyers who want the option of returning/selling the game after playing.
