I know it makes the world feel less empty but I'm getting real tired of enemies appearing out of thin air and attacking me. They removed the camp fest travel from the first RDR and now the game doesn't even let me go afk in peace while my character rides automatically in the cinematic view...
Don't play dumb with me, you're not as good at it as I am.

Fast travel is in this one; it just takes a bit before you can unlock it. And it only gets you from camp to other places. Stagecoaches and trains get you around other places though.

From my experience they are never "out of thin air". You can always see hidden attacks coming if you pay attention. Also, bounty hunters are tracking you through your movements, I've witnessed them get of their horse, look at tracks then communicate with others on where to go. If you know what to look for and use your map you will rarely be surprised.

In RDR1 you could put a waypoint anywhere on the map, open a camp in the middle of nowhere and fast travel from there to where exactly you wanted. Why the devs felt like making away with that is beyond me.

They are out of nowhere if you're like me and use cinematic camera so the character rides automatically from A to B and you do other s*** irl like browsing the web or making a sandwich.

Ya, cinematic mode is not an automatic out. Either fast travel from camp or stagecoach.

After ending a mission I'm likely in the middle of nowhere and if I wanted to use the fast travel map in the camp or a stagecoach I'd end up using cinematic camera anyway just to get there. Thanks for trying to help me, but this advice is pointless.

I wouldn't consider it advice, just giving you info on how the game works. It sounds like you need to keep zero bounties or maybe this game is just not for you.

Yeah, I’ve got to be honest, the fast travel is extremely annoying in this game. I would say I’ve spent at least half my time just traveling to missions. The way they have it setup right now doesn’t make sense. Most of the time you literally need to travel to camp and it doesn’t allow the player to do that.

When the game is finished, you'll miss those random enemy pop ups. I haven't had one since the game was finished. No attempts at robbing me, or just attacking. I'm about 90% completion and been done with the main game for weeks now. The world pretty much dies after the game is over, unfortunately. I felt RDR1 had more duels and random encounters even post game.

im starting to think that there’s only a set number of them in each area. Im only in ch3, but been playing for 300hrs, I haven’t been ambushed for ages.
