Seriously, the characters are awful.
The driving is stiff and unfun.
The camera controls feel like you're wrestling with the game the entire time.
I remember when GTA3 was released back on the PS2. Now, that was a fun GTA game. But this game is just horrible. Rockstar took out everything that was fun and quirky about the series.

I realize this is a Red Dead 2 board, but I wanted to vent while praising RDR2. Hopefully they just stop making GTA games for a long time until they get some better ideas.

honestly your complaints make it sound like you've never played GTA V

especially your comment about the driving being stiff and unfun

I played up to the part where Michael makes the black guy drive a car through the dealership window and then did that dumb mission where you shoot aliens while on drugs. The controls feel extremely stiff while driving and the camera keep recentering itself, making it next to impossible to see while driving.

so you say the characters are all awful but at the part you are in the story you haven't even met 80% of them

GTA 5 is a lot of fun, but the story and characters were far from anything done in RDR2. Other then that, it was a lot of fun to play and engage with. RDR2 can sometimes feel the opposite, like it wants you to struggle.

I really didn't like any of the characters in GTA 5 tbqh.

I always buy the newest GTA when it comes out expecting it to be the one that finally turns me on to the series, and it never happens. I don't know why. All of the ingredients are there but they just don't work for me. I think I only ever finished Vice City. And I played all the way through the first Saint's Row when it was just a GTA clone and not a bizarre sci-fi/GTA mashup.

I loved trevor.
The driving was not stiff and unfun.
Music was great.
Gunplay was good.
Commercials and news broadcast was f***ing hilarious.

I thought it was the weakest part of the game.
It's not that it's difficult to be successful, it's just real easy not to be.
