*spoilers for the end of chapter 3*
RIP Sean you crazy foooker. And BOAH I wanted to put a bullet in that Braithwaite woman.

I don't understand how people have beaten the whole story so far when there's so much to explore. Are you guys just speeding through it all?

I can't believe how much time I've spent already. I just barely started Chapter 4 and I think I've put 80 hours in so far.

What's weird is I dont even think this game is fantastic (it's just good), but I find myself soaked in to the surroundings and atmosphere. I'll even choose to walk a lot to take it all in.
The problem isn't that Johnny can't read, or can't think. The problem is Johnny doesn't know what thinking is; he confuses it with feeling. -Thomas Sowell-

I can never seem to help myself but speed through R* stories on the first playthrough. I find myself compelled by them, but also want to get through so I can get back online without fear of spoilers. I think of the first time through as the theatrical version, and the second time through as my director's cut lol.

I spent like two hours walking on top of some mountains dodging bounty hunters and trying not to freeze to death. Was cozy.

I'm taking my time too. Barely into chapter 4 and I plan on doing side quests, some hunting/fishing, and just wandering around for a long time before moving on.
Teenage angst has paid off well, now I'm bored and old.

I found mostly everything on the side to be a drag, so I just stormed through it. Hunting/fishing are not fun, finding collectibles is a drag in any game, and the side missions were generally uninteresting.

It's fairly lengthy just doing the missions though.

Yeah, fishing was my biggest disappointment. As bad as FFXV was, I was hoping fishing would be on par with the way they did it.

I started rushing the story a bit in chapter 4 because I felt like the pinkertons were breathing down our necks. It just didn't feel right to stick to exploring after chapter 3 and ignoring the missions. I mean as you know from the end of chapter 3 the point of moving was to stay there a couple of days and move on Now I arrived in chapter 6 and it feels somewhat safe again

40-45 hours in so far and I'm maybe a little more than halfway through chapter 3. The last three nights, I've basically been spending 3-4 hours hunting, exploring, finding item requests, running into strangers, etc., etc. and then when it gets too late, I end up having time for one, maybe two story missions. Rinse, repeat.

So I'm kind eager to do a little more story tonight, but I will most likely explore the swamp for a while, do more random encounters, some more hunting/fishing, etc.

But I definitely want to start pushing a bit more toward chapter 4 soon, because I heard you move to or closer to St. Denis in chapter 4? Anyone able to confirm that? Just wondering, because I held off exploring there, hoping the story would introduce me to it eventually.

Yes. You also get another Dead Eye upgrade during one of the Ch4 missions. Able to shoot without leaving dead eye, classic bullet time style.
