This looks a little like the same list that was posted a few months ago, but what do you think anyway?

Initial reaction: Oh, it's yet another "remastered" list by QSZ... *sigh* well, I'll give it a read anyway, there are certainly worse list authors out there...

*reads the intro*
Wait, this was proofed by @Emi3280 ? Huh. That's a good sign.

Yeah, this wasn't bad. Still a few mistakes here and there, but it was acceptable.

More specific comments:
I personally preferred Brawl to Melee by a wide margin. I also don't think the graphics look "too realistic." I mean, Mario looks just about the same in Galaxy, IMO.

I also must be the only person in the world who really liked Other M. No, it wasn't the best Metroid, but I don't think it deserved as bad a reputation as it has. I definitely don't think it would be better if it didn't exist. And I didn't really mind the shifting from third- to first-person perspective; you do that in lots of other games, and I didn't find the control scheme to be that bad either. That's probably just me, though.

Super Smash Bros Brawl was by no means a disappointment, QS. I really don't know why you get the idea that it was. Well...I do...it's because you're only taking the opinion of the competitive Melee community.

Brawl was a great game. It just wasn't a good *competitive* game and therein lies the difference.

93% review score average on metacritic (higher than Melee): https://www.metacritic.com/game/wii/super-smash-bros-brawl
13.3 million copies sold (almost twice as many as Melee): http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/games.php?name=super+smash+bros+brawl

Brawl was in fact the best selling game in the series until Ultimate recently overtook it. It was by no means a failure and by no means "crashed and burned", as you put it.

Online might have been garbage but online in general especially for fighting games was garbage back in 2008.

You're not alone. The gameplay of Other M was solid. The story left a lot to be desired but the actual gameplay was totally fine. I enjoyed it when I played it.

On the list itself, the writing is very much improved so good work there. Some of the choices still remain questionable though.

The list itself is an improvement, for sure. There are still some grammatical missteps here or there. Some of the text/choices feel out of date, too.

But, overall, an improvement.

Cross Tag Battle had like zero hype aside from it being at EVO 2018. It's even a pretty good fighting game, even if the character roster is missing tons of important characters.
Lawbreakers is underrated

Brawl was indeed a HUGE disappointment.

How so? 93% average review score and 13.3 million copies sold (making it the best selling game in the series until Ultimate which only recently beat it) seems to disagree with that assessment.

The Melee competitive community were disappointed with it because it wasn't Melee. They will be disappointed in any game that's not Melee. They were disappointed in Smash 4 too. Some seem to like Ultimate though, but none of the pros (with the exception of Armada) have dropped Melee in favour of it.

To the average casual gamer though, Brawl was fantastic. It was chocked to bursting point with content - including featuring the fantastic Subspace Emissary single player campaign, and pushed the Wii's hardware to the absolute limit. It added final smashes, assist trophies and many other items. It introduced new and interesting characters like Wario, Pokemon Trainer, Lucario, Diddy Kong, Pit, King Dedede, Wolf and freaking SONIC and SOLID SNAKE. And while yes it also introduced Meta Knight, the fact he was broken didn't matter to casuals, it only mattered to the game's competitive scene.

Yes, it was slower paced. Yes, you could randomly trip. And yes, online was poo. The art style is subjective. But none of that makes it a disappointment and the numbers back that up.

Yeah good reviews and sales doesn't always equals good game. Call of Duty and Fifa proves that.
