Part one is finally on the front page! Good job to everyone who worked on this!

If you're coming here via the link below the list itself, here's the thread that was created prior to the list's publication, and will show you some of the behind-the-scenes type of stuff.

Actually, it appeared on the front page last night, but that's alright. In fact, I can say the list is pretty good.

I get the feeling that that's what you usually say. =P

In the end, What Remains of Edith Finch is much more than just a typical "walking simulator" and it definitely sets the bar for others of its type.

Still.....it's a walking simulator and little more interesting than Firewatch. I'm not opposed to narrative games. I loved To the Moon and Finding Paradise (strong narratives with little "gameplay" to speak of), but walking simulators need to have a deeper meaning than Edith Finch to be interesting. It was certainly an interesting walking simulator, for 2017. Stanley Parable was a much better walking simulator where choices could be actively made and dying was even an ending in itself. That's the bar I have and no first-person narrative has been able to keep my attention since then.</opinion>

I’ve never played Edith Finch, but I’d have to say The Stanley Parable and Gone Home are definitely one of my two favorite games.
