for basically nothing (mid round pick) and not a single taker. Of course he has a NMC so maybe a team not on his list was interested but still. I'm surprised by that.

there a lot of teams that could do worse than him in net for the next two years, possibly with retained salary.

That's gotta be an Eklund rumor.

I refuse to believe Buffalo, Ottawa, and Pittsburgh would refuse that kind of lopsided offer.

7.5 million is more than most teams can afford. Aside from Colorado, no other contending teams have that kinda cap space. They are going to have to retain some salary and probably give up a 1st to move him. And he has a modified no-trade, so he probably won't be heading to any team he doesn't think can win
Apparently Carolina wants half salary retained with a 1st and a 2nd to take him.

Not surprising teams don't want to do the Knights a massive favour in getting them out of cap jail so they can then sign Pietrangelo

Teams dont really give a s*** about that tbh. Especially a team in the Eastern Conference. If you have cap space and maybe some young goalies coming through, MAF would be a great option given the draft picks.
