Both teams had won at least five Super Bowls, had 16+ winning seasons, won many regular season and playoff games, had a HoF QB (49ers had two) and HC, and just flat out dominated the competition.

Patriots did it during the salary cap era. They win. Both are legitimate dynasties, as is every dynasty except the Warriors of this decade.

That's true, but the NFC was very tough during the 49ers glory days.

From 1981 to 1998, the 49ers led the league with a point differential of 2,935. Second place, the Washington Football Team, had a PD of 901 over that period

That's pretty absurd

Their division was pretty weak for a long time. Falcons rams and Saints were usually bad with a good year sprinkled in there. Then when they went to 5 teams they got the expansion panthers added. Not as easy as the pats have had it, but not tough.

The 49ers had multiple QBs during that time (Montana and Young missed a lot of games) and still won at least 10 games each season. They have two SB Champions which can be argued as the best ever (1984 49ers, 1989 49ers) and the 1987 team might be the best ever team to not reach the SB. Many forget just how dominant that team was.

Agreed. 49ers had a great run but when rice admits he cheated literally every game of his career and both hall of fame qbs say they bent the rules regularly, it really takes something away from it.
