The Jets were never proud or glorious. Their golden age was losing in the AFC Championship game two years in a row.

The Jets were at one point 1/3 of all super bowl champs. The Guarantee is such an important part of NFL folklore that it got Joe Namath into the Hall of Fame

You know if you cherry pick very specific stats, Mark Sanchez is the next Drew Brees.

Mark Sanchez will never be responsible for the death of his mother.

For a brief period, Mark Sanchez was a fantastic role model for Latino Youth

If Favre doesn't blow out his shoulder in 08 or retire/unretire so that he can sign with the Vikings, the Jets 100% go to and/or win a Super Bowl in those two years. They were legitimately one of the best teams in the league in 08 before he got hurt and they made the AFCCG with Sanchez in 09. Very good chance of winning a relatively weak AFC in 08. Not sure that they beat the Colts or Saints in 09, but they definitely have a better chance of getting to the Super Bowl than they did with Sanchez.

But why? He played well in his first season and promptly sucked in his second season.

Favre would have beaten the Colts in 09. Offense didnt do anything in the 2nd half of that game after having a 17-6 lead at one point.

Yeah, then Sanchez got blindsided late by Melvin Bullitt. No call, shockingly.
