@ Connor Williams

By the end of the year he wasn't bad. Definitely didn't have a good year though. Any time a journeyman like Xavier Suo-Filo can come in and make an argument to be playing over you, it's not going well. The problems for Williams were a lot to overcome though. He was coached two different techniques. He came into the NFL being coached by Paul Alexander. Alexander gets fired and suddenly he's having to start all over. While this is going on, he's trying to make the transition from tackle to guard. All while not really being NFL strong. He got walked back a lot and eventually this caused him to lose to speed too because when lineman know you're not strong, they set up moves to work off that. He was good in the run game though. He is incredible in space. He's a guy to look out for making a leap this season. I cannot imagine a year of NFL conditioning, settling into playing a position (though he's literally about to move back to tackle LMAO!) and being coached to play one technique won't help.

Don't think this was mentioned, but since we always talk coach salaries. Dabo Swinney inked a new 10 year, 93 million dollar deal. He's the highest paid college coach now. Gruden at 10 per has to be the only coach in football period making more than him. 9.5-10 per is probably going to the new mark for elite coaches. That happened real quick. Not saying Gruden is not a disaster, but him on 10 per won't like that bad the further we get into his contract.
