I have it on good authority that the Packers are looking into Drew Locke

for some reason

Seems like the most obvious of smokescreens
To err is human
To arr is pirate

Favre was 35 when the Pack drafted Rodgers

now Rodgers is 35

Rodgers isn't flirting with retirement, Favre's contract made it way easier to cut or trade him under the old CBA, and Rodgers is playing at a much higher level now. Drew Lock also isn't some highly rated prospect like Rodgers was.

Odds are they're looking to make him a potential backup for Rodgers and to get something in a trade for him a couple of seasons from now.

Whatever return we get for him, it won't be a R1P30

yeah it doesn't really make sense to blow a first round pick on a guy that you're going to try and flip in a few years. you won't get a first for that guy down the road.

We should just get a veteran backup. These project backups have been terrible when it came time to fill in.
