Finally. This significantly decreases the chances of them f***ing up their draft too because they won't pick somebody as a contingency on Lawrence now. I think Byron Jones is gonna end up being the odd man out in the series of extensions. The Cowboys are investing a lot pre-draft in CBs. I don't think that's by accident. If a guy they like is there they'll probably draft and mostly stash him this year. Then Jones can walk in offseason and they'll have a guy ready to go. Worst case scenario is they franchise him. I hate the timing of Jones finally getting it together and them letting him go though.

Question?

Given the value of the positions would you rather extend Zeke or Byron?

Probably Jones, but I'm not one of those people that thinks highly of corners. It's pretty close. That's why I was adamant that Ramsey over Elliott wasn't that big a deal. A transcendent RB can help a defense just as much as lockdown corner. Though it's harder to get a lockdown corner.

Dallas is scouting RBs pretty high. Even with 30 visits. Gonna be an interesting draft.

I can't wait for the bellyaching about the guy they pick in the second round. It seems like our first pick is unpopular every year now. The only time in recent memory everybody was right to be crying is with Taco.

I'm pretty sure everyone wanted TJ Watt. Just sucks we took taco instead.

Definitely wanted Watt and the reason why they didn’t pick him was so dumb. They basically drafted Taco to be a base end and replace Lawrence. How they couldn’t see that Lawrence was a really good LDE and the problem was RDE was nuts. I feel like Gregory factored at least some into the decision too and that was really dumb. With him they should’ve almost always been handling him like a bonus the way they are now.
Just give me 53 Keith Brookings.

I haven’t deep dived on the draft in years. I used to buy to like 5 draft guides and watch Dallas visitors on YouTube. Sometimes I’d even download full games to watch players. Senior Bowl was my joint too. Now I just read articles from people I trust and draw conclusions based on the data from a number of sources and how reliable I’ve found their info in the past.

Only time I pay attention to the draft is after it’s over and I want to have an idea of what our players can bring to the table. These mocks and rumors are all f***ing bulls*** wastes of time to read.

I think the Carson Wentz draft killed my interest in doing pre-draft stuff forever. The way people are so adamant about trashing players they don’t like is toxic. And when that player ends of being good, they can’t act like they were wrong about them and won’t let it go.

Basically draft twitter is toxic...and ruined any fun I had with with the draft.
