Russ gave the team a deadline of April 15th to get an extension done. He also expects to be the highest paid player in NFL history. Rather conflicted on what to do here. Teams with QBs that eat up that much of the cap rarely make it to the Super Bowl. Of course, good luck finding another QB with even a fraction of Wilson's talent.

Kind of hoping the salary cap goes away with the next CBA. >_>

I love Russ don't get me wrong but if someone offers us like 4 1st rd picks or something, not saying go ahead and do it, but man I'd listen...

He last played in like 2015. Working for USC?

I dig bringing Marsh back. Decent rotational edge rusher, plays his ass off, awesome on special teams, only 26, won't count against next year's comp picks and we get him back after Coleman left for more money.

Yeah like the NFLPA will achieve anything close to that. Imagine being the worst player's union of the big 4 despite having a handicap of a publicly owned team.

But yeah,if Russ gets what he wants than I doubt we can keep Wagner and Clark.

I like Russell but I wasn't expecting him to give a deadline like this and ask to be the highest player.

His deadline is the start of offseason work outs. Makes sense he wants to get it done before having to worry about getting ready for football

Voluntary workouts even. The mandatory ones aren't even until June I think. Which makes me think he at least won't hold out if a deal isn't done by the 15th. Though if he is being serious about not discussing a new contract after that date, it makes next offseason much more nerve wracking.
