Remember when this board constantly fellated him as being a good GM/drafter?

I look back and laugh, too.

It sounds like Ozzie is going back to scouting in order to help build up our scouting department before retiring for good.

Many of our experienced/senior scouts have been lured away in the past three years. Notably the Eagles and Bears departments have many former Ravens scouts.

I’m not going to pretend that he’s as good as he used to be at drafting. 2015 in particular stand out. I’ll still be sad to see the Wizard of Oz depart.

His drafts have been down, but not egregiously bad. Belicheck had a similar lull for 2006-2010ish). Flacco is a bad QB on a horrible contract and their cap management has been poor (How can you not retain guys like Osemele and Jernigan, its not like the roster is overflowing with HOF players). Thats the part they need to adress.

coaches on the hot seat never perform well.

Tom Coughlin

Coughlin on the hot seat is a final form like regular season Peyton Manning or Brett Favre after his dad died

I would imagine the succession plan to DeCosta has been in place for a while now, so don't think this is a knee jerk reaction.

Clearly the Ravens are in need of some freshening up though, they've fallen well off from the standards of the Lewis/Reed era. Those guys are irreplacable but they haven't even found particularly good players.
