They actually had a deal in place with the Astros, but Nats ownership killed it at the last minute because they thought they could lure Harper back.


I mean they could have still resigned him regardless if they traded him or not. Yankees did it with Chapman. If the Nats threw enough money at him he would have came back AND they would have had the prospects.

Instead the Nats overpaid for a pitcher that had his first good season since 2013.

The Astros were also going to send over Bukauskas, a top 100 prospect. Instead, all they got for Harper was a 4th round pick.
Impossible is just a word people use to make themselves feel better when they quit.

I can't wait until the Phillies fans turn on Harper. It's going to be glorious. And they won't give in, 'til they're victorious.

Harper also coulda played at an elite level for longer but hey
