As much as she wants to, Karin's arms are simply too short to swordfight with God. So she has to settle with Mebuki instead. Karin and Mebu reconnect, fight, argue, reach an understanding, and give each other a pick-me-up before their respective final missions. We're headed into the endgame now.

I just finished rewatching Season 1, and I'm just on time to rewatch Hero Chapter before next episode to get an exact refresher on what the hell is going on.
So, they mentioned the Uesato family built the tower. That's the miko girl from NoWaYu, right? Uesato Hinata, if I'm correct.

Yes, that was a direct reference to Hinata from NoWaYu.

Also worth noting: the two kanji used to write Chikage's name translate to "Thousand" and "View", so it's very likely that Hinata named the tower The Palace of a Thousand Views as a type of silent tribute to Chikage that would bypass the Taisha's direct censorship of her existence. This wasn't directly mentioned, but it's an interesting thing to note that would obviously fall through the cracks when translating the story into English.

Currently watching Hero Chapter episode 2/season 2 episode 8, I now understand the scene in KuMeYu where Taisha representatives visit Togo, and why Aya was going to be sacrificed on the Fire Offering but ended up being spared.

Huh more then one season of Yuki Yuna? Might have to look into it more as I found whatever season I watched interesting.

It's a really messy series tho. Season 2 starts with a 6 episode prequel to the original 2 years before the start of S1, then a 6 episode sequel to S1. Then the currently airing season consists of some episodes that happen between seasons 1 and 2, then a prequel 300 years before the events of the 1st season, then whatever is going to start with this week's episode which seems to be around the end of S2.
But now that I'm watching it again with more context of the story and without waiting a week between episodes, I am getting the lore much more clearly and it's really great.

Ha! So road map needed lol. Sounds even more interesting now.

Reminds me when I asked Google one the proper way to watch the Fate series. Hours later I just gave up.

Nice Karin episode.

As for the timeline, the end of this episode (where that huge, fiery whatever it is shows up) lines up with the ending of S2P2Ep5. There was only one more episode after that in season 2 though (the finale), so I'm not sure what they're going to show in the 3 remaining episodes of this season. Maybe there will be an epilogue or something.

If you watched it on Crunchyroll, then it was the first season. Amazon licensed and locked away the second season (after not having the first season before) for some absolutely stupid reason, so a lot of people who didn't know Amazon carried anime never found out that Yuki Yuna had more to it. But now Sentai Filmworks rescued the license, so all three seasons are watchable in one place on HiDive. Here are the links to watch the series, posted in the order you should watch them (AKA broadcast order). HiDive also has mobile/Roku/Xbox apps that you can watch it on instead of the website.

Just watch it in broadcast order, because trying to watch the franchise in chronological order just wouldn't work at all. Most of this season so far has been just filling in gaps and providing more context and backstory for what happened in Hero Chapter. It's strange, but it makes sense in the end.

Did the source material come out in this funny order as well?

That's as nice touch. Thanks for explaining that.
