So Tai is randomly being flown around to find the plot, Kari and TK are officially still in the hot springs and that's why they are not helping out, and Joe is STILL there and Gatomon is with him...even though cats really don't like pools.

But after all this time looking for the plot the plot finds him, AKA he gets whisked away to the evil hideout...sorry bug helper Digimon your lives mean nothing.

So Tai is met by the lower level Argomon that talks...we don't really learn anything new other then Zeed really does seem pointless as he's not even mentioned...a lot of fake Tai's are presented but there is no real struggle because of course Agumon finds the real one...so we spend most of the episode just going through all the evolution scenes as Wargreymon wipes out grunts but the talking one gets away...then we see the SUPER REAL enemy witch is...just a floating dark sphere...its the Devil's Avatar god from Yu Gi Oh? https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/The_Wicked_Avatar_(manga) Might as well be since all we get is an generic evil eye opening with nothing as far as personality to go on...so much for it being Daemon...god damn this show.

So yah, the true final enemy seems to might as well be a JRPG boss from the 8 bit era...and this episode makes it feel even more that hardly anything has happened since its the same threat from the second episode. ( Facepalms)

Seriously its like." Lets spend the entire season hyping a big bad that only shows up for one episode...only to replace him with ANOTHER even more generic ultimate boss that's even LESS fleshed out! Genius right? ( Gets termination notice)

Anyway next episode Kari does something but...something tells me its not going to be involving Myotismon...and man do I miss him at this point.

Algomon : "Here is bunch of Taichis that have more personality than the real one. Find the real one."

Agumon : "The real Taichi.... IS BLAAND!"
Xehanort's guardian is the will of Kairi's grandma. It will absorb Xehanort and become Kairi's grandma, the final villain!!!

That is based as f***/a bit too self-aware.

At least the show remembered the paper thin plot existed. Kinda wished for BlitzGreymon to happen through glitch shenanigans if only for hopes of it getting a sequence but maybe its for the best Taichi doesn't get one for his meme form.

Most digimon series were never really good at building up to their respectable big bads. With data squad perhaps bring the sole exception.

Followed by xros wars but bugramon never talked or was even revealed until the last few eps, and was just a op beatstick.

I don't really agree with that. Pidemon is not going to win any awards but he was introduced long enough for there to be some hype for the showdown at the end. Oikawa was done decently, double so compared to other kids shows as he was more then just one note and you even felt bad for him when Malo Myotismon screwed him over.

D-Reaper sure as hell was given enough time, and Lucemon is not winning any awards for depth either but he to was given enough time to both be hyped up and show just how much of a threat he was since he bloody killed every single Digimon and completely destroyed the world, and while it was restored at the end we never saw how it looked so it really felt like Lucemon destroyed everything and the kids just left.

Meanwhile we have...one big bad in a sphere and then...ANOTHER speechless big bad in a sphere that might do...something?

Also...on a side note...some are saying that this eye belongs to Apocalymon but...I'm not sure if they would really hype a Digimon that was not new but...who knows.

To be honest MaloMyotismon/Apocalymon are terrible garbage. The final boss being Yggdrasil tier (2.5/10) rather than dipping into the negative tier like those two is an improvement.

Eh, MaloMyotismon may have one of the top completely pathetic defeats in anime, BUT he still at least has the moments form the hype of this even if it only lasted a episode of wondering if more were really going to die. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq6YfBXhKlE

Its not great but its still better then the utter nothing we are getting this season.
