  3. Why are we pretending that Beerus's opinion matters as much as Whis'?

DBS just spent all its running time establishing that Whis is smarter, stronger and better than Beerus in every way.

Yet now the writers are trying to say that their opinion on the Goku and Vegeta rivalry holds remotely comparable weight.

It's not even a case of Whis being out of his element with Hakai, he's not. He taught Beerus in the first place.

They all trained in the same place so it's not like Beerus was training Vegeta in secret and Whis doesn't know.

So when Whis says Goku > Vegeta, that's really all there is to say. Even in things like wisdom and knowledge, Whis beats Beerus. So Beerus' opinion literally doesn't matter.

So when Whis says Goku > Vegeta,

Wait, that happened in the Granolah Arc? I don’t recall that at the moment.

Couple of misconceptions here.

-We don't know if Whis is the one who taught Beerus the Hakai or not.

-Whis's training Beerus could only involve the stuff we saw in the anime with him training Goku and Vegeta which was mostly ki control and strength training. We know it involves UI training becasue Beerus can partially use it.

-Has Whis ever once used the Hakai or claimed that it is inferior to learning UI?

Whis straight up tells Goku that the Hakai is not something easily mastered. He also never denied that learning Hakai could place someone on the same level as a UI user or the possibility to surpass said user likes Beerus said.

If UI was so much better than Hakai, why wouldn't Whis speak up about to Vegeta who is his student? I mean the only reason that Goku > Vegeta is because of the Silver Form. We've already seen Goku's standard UI technique against Granola and to be frank, it wasn't that impressive until he used MUI.

Plus the whole point of DBS for Goku and Vegeta goes back to what the Oracle Fish predicted that Goku and Vegeta would rival Beerus one day. He never said they'd both get to that point the same way.

The story has made it pretty clear that because of Goku's training over the years and personality that UI is beat suited for him, while Vegeta is best suited for the philosophy of Hakai.

Yes. He was willing to bet in Goku's favour.

The fact that it's remotely contestable debunks your headcanon.

The point is it isnt contestable. You bet on things you believe in. Whis believes it, his opinion matters way more than Beerus' , so that settles it.

See what @WhydidiExplode2 posted.

We all know you're just being a disingenuous troll trying to downplay Vegeta and even trying to wank one arc fodder (Jiren).
