When Bebi took control of Vegeta and became Bebi Vegeta, it is implied that Vegeta was his most powerful host (the reasoning why he was able to power up so much more)

BUT! Bebi Gohan was DESTROYING Vegeta in their fight. Yes Bebi Goten came in to help later, but if you watch the fight its pretty obvious that Bebi Gohan was probably going to win 1 on 1 anyway.

So let's take Bebi out of the equation. If GT Vegeta and GT Gohan fought, who would actually win? We have also seen during the fight with Super 17 that it is implied Vegeta is the strongest of the Z warriors if Goku isn't around, but this should NOT be the case because Majuub is absolutely stronger than Vegeta at this point and he was beaten easily by Super 17 while Vegeta lasted a little bit longer, and Gohan couldn't even win against Metal Rildo, let alone Super 17.

So everything points to Vegeta being the "strongest' even though he clearly was not

The only thing GT cared about is that Goku is number 1 and nobody else matters but him.
Monna's clone is still in the tournament!

Not really seeing how any of the other points cast doubt on Baby's assessment of Vegeta as the strongest, and the whole point of going after the most powerful Saiyan around to challenge Goku. Being very generous you could make an argument about Gohan being stronger under equal forms, since maybe Vegeta *sort of* has SS2 in GT and Gohan seemingly doesn't? Still, it's clear that Vegeta is the strongest after Goku -- bar maybe the parenthesis in which Oob becomes Majoob.

Besides, even in the fight against the Baby-possessed Saiyans, Vegeta's kiai is enough to k.o. both Super Saiyan Gohan and Super Saiyan Goten. Both are implied by Baby to be flaring up their ki up to their limits so that Vegeta is forced to go all out. The scene already suggests that it would be more difficult or perhaps impossible for Baby through Gohan alone.

Also, how massively more powerful Baby makes Vegeta even before gathering everyone's energy, I'm also inclined to assume that the Super Saiyan Gohan fought by Vegeta was "souped up" in some form via Baby's influence. And Vegeta has an even fight.

P.S. Actually, Vegeta still has the edge on Gohan while holding back. Just look at the end of the video. Baby-Gohan sweats profusely while Vegeta is basically fine. Yeah, there's really no argument to be made about him being weaker than Gohan at that point.

Yes. Pan is stronger than him. Face it,gohan is trash in every iteration of DB.

Then if Vegeta is stronger, how much did he power up from Z that he was able to overtake Ultimate Gohan?

Vegeta never even reached SS3, so this means as a SS2 he became stronger than Gohan? Doesn't make sense

Gohan yet again completely stopped training and became incredibly weak. Vegeta skipped SSJ3 and went to SSJ4 which easily made him vastly more powerfull than gohan.

Yeah, but that happens much later.

I'm talking about before the Shadow Dragons arc started.

Idk, he was ready to go off into space and help Goku find the black star Dragon Balls. And he's definitely way stronger than DBS Gohan despite being a full time professor. Look at Resurrection F Gohan and compare him to GT Gohan.

It's GT being GT, notoriously inconsistent. I personally rationalize this as Gohan keeping up his training (so being fit and ready for action, unlike, say, his ROF counterpart that lost a good chunk of power) but somehow losing his Ultimate form through neglect. In a scriptwriter's interview they do make a point about him being "Ultimate" Gohan again, seemingly, just for the final fight against Omega Shenron. Not like that is easy to digest either -- since even against Omega, Gohan uses Super Saiyan too. So, yeah, just make of that what you will. The author's intent, regardless, is to have you believe Vegeta is stronger than everyone but Goku. Being a definite plot point, you have to go backwards from there.

Gohan just slack off like always.

The guidebooks make a point about him keeping up with this training. We should assume that he's at least in good shape around the time of Baby's arrival on Earth.
