The current Smash hype made me realize how little I care about Dragon Ball.

I've been considering leaving the community several times already. The new stuff I feel isn't really for me... the franchise hasn't grown with me like the original series did during its run.

In my day we survived GT. You'll survive Super. dragonball and DBZ still exist and will be what people continue to remember about the series.

In the same way that Terminator 3-5 didn't ruin terminator 1-2. Or future batman cartoons didn't take away from Batman TAS. Or how godfather 3 doesn't take away from godfather 1-2 etc etc.

You'll see, as time goes on, you'll find Super forgotten while DB and DBZ live on.

Notice James Cameron said his new terminator franchise will be ignoring all terminator films after terminator 2. Notice how most DBZ games released ignored DBGT. this will be similar.

Super is written and designed by Toriyama and it's hugely popular, the Terminator sequels weren't written or designed by Cameron and they were not popular.

The only negativity towards Super comes from fat old neckbeards that rage about DB tropes being in a DB series, if DB or DBZ were airing today these guys would hate it, they only like DBZ because of nostalgia.

Nope, DBZ is just vastly better than Super. DBZ had atmosphere, good looking not reused animation (atleast not on Super levels of resuing) and actual choreography during fights and script that wasn't written by 9 years old kids.

Super is a little kids show, it’s really not even a show, just plot points loosely animated to form a series. The only real story we received was the zamasu saga and even that sucked compared to Z standards, the show lacks exposition and proper development, that mixed with bad writing makes for a tragic experience, only thing carrying it is the name. Super is literally the worst anime I’ve ever seen, not even the characterization was done properly. This show isn’t a proper continuation of Z not should it be considered as one

Like it or not, it's officially a continuation of DBZ, from the mind of the creator himself.

DBZ English, Japanese and Spanish no matter the dub are superior than Dragon Ball Super.

In Super they exaggerate the characters worst traits beyond imagination. Goku into a brainless stupid character and Chi Chi into a nagging person way beyond belief.

In DB and DBZ they are more creative with characters powering up, while in Super they got lazy with no explanation at all.

I grew out of it back in 2008 and never played a game or watched an episode until 2015 when long story short after a depressing spell I came across Xenoverse and that got me back into the franchise.

It'd be interesting to hear that short story long

I felt that way, too and I think the not-giving-a-damn is creeping up on me again. Like in early 2013 I began not caring about DB and it went on just until Xenoverse 1 came out. Since then I was totally obsessed about DB again. However, lately my interest is slowly decreasing. I stopped watching DBS like half a year ago but I still played the s*** out of XV2 and Dokkan Battle and I was pretty active on this message board. Now I'm doing these things less and less.
Don't play dumb with me, you're not as good at it as I am.
